What's in your CDP tonight? the minority report
Okay, Nutty!  Bozzio Levin Stevens...I really enjoy Black Light Syndrome - especially tracks like Duende and Book of Hours.  Their Dangerous Situation is good too.  Who'd have thought Billy Idol's guitarist a Flamenco fan?
What's your favorite lyric from a song?

@jayctoy Glad things are working out.  You do what you are comfortable with, of course but FWIW I leave the Gungnir on 24/7.  Apart from the very infrequent need to unplug it briefly for a move or whatever, it's been on for months and months...yea...
Flooring advice on basement listening room.
Allan - we updated our finished basement a few years ago.  Ripped out the carpeting as part of it.  If the basement is below grade you definitely want an engineered wood product.  The contractor doing ours installed a moisture barrier/elevated sub...

@kalali - I tried finding that Kevin Hayes Trio, Live at Smalls on Spotify or Tidal with no success.  I watched a few seconds of a couple clips on YouTube and enjoyed his keyboard playing.  SQ was not that great, however (cymbals mic'd way too clo...

Forget anything else said or written about Miles, the fact remains he sure knew how to gather talent around himself. I stumbled onto that 1964 footage after watching a short one where Ron Carter describes how he got recruited by Miles. What a char...

Cool, acman3. You are welcome, of course. If you read the All About Jazz review, EST was mentioned so hopefully Alboran Trio will work for you as well. Yeah, I could hear how prominently the bass figured...both in terms of composition/performance ...

Very interesting article. WM is certainly articulate but assuming Paolo, Dino and Gigi are unaware of this history, does it disqualify what they create from being jazz? I am taking liberties with WM’s position. A very good article. WM is impressiv...

Well, now I know what the "traditionalists" think...at least one of them.Appreciate you sharing your thoughts, Rok,  Can't say I'm surprised.  Can't say I agree entirely.  Ultimately, it doesn't matter.  I will still enjoy the Meltemi recording wh...

@alexatpos Don’t know if "Italian Jazz" would warrant a new topic but this Meltemi recording has certainly got my attention. (This Italian digs it.) Not sure what the "traditionalists" will think, however.

gdnrbob - You are very welcome.  I think I posted comments previously on another thread too.  In my O-pinion, there's an advantage to having lived with the non-MB version for a while and becoming familiar with it's "sound" and then doing the upgra...

Something a bit newer (a 2006 release) and from Italy...so yeah, Italian Jazz (hope that don’t make anyone’s head explode; or maybe I do). A trio that does hold my interest.  Sonics on this recording are very good.  Love the "equal time" (i.e., pr...
Schiit offering LISST "tubes" for SAGA & FREYA pre-amps
To anyone interested...The LISSTs are on their way back to Schiit.  During the second day of use they started producing noise in the right channel.  No signal being applied and Freya in mute mode.  Something getting through that shouldn't have.  S...

@jayctoy JC - hope the Gungnir MB works out well in your system.  Good luck!
