Are there any happy long-term owners of the Focal Elex/Clear/Utopia?
I have had my Focal Utopia over 2 years… doing great. I Also them on vacations for a couple months a year. No problems.
Do you consider cables to be a "component" of your system?
@mitch2    Yes, SRA is a top of the line company.
How many speakers and AMPS do you own, and why?
OP, Cool. I remember getting my first high end turntable… a VPI Aries and Van den Hull cartridge. My jaw dropped… goosebumps creeped up my arms and shivers went up and down my back… how was this possible? The background noise just disappeared… th...
Streaming vs Physical Media
@edcyn Yep… that is the compelling case for streaming. I like spinning vinyl occasionally, but it is like riding a horse… it is great for the experience, but sure isn’t efficient, comfortable and the highest quality ride.

@mitch2 Nice system. That is a big commitment to SRA  isolation platforms. I have one under my turntable. Made a very definite and important improvement.
Best turntable for the buck
Sounds like you want in to the vinyl arena. I used to own a Rega… your criticism is the same as I would have made… I would have said too much noise resulting in decreased transparent soundstage. I have not been a fan of Rega since I owned one… the...
How many speakers and AMPS do you own, and why?
I think I get your question… although I have an library headphone system and office system. I absolutely only own one pair speakers, preamp, DAC, etc., and one amp for my main system. I would never own two or three sets of speakers or amps. My ob...
Do audiophiles creat the high prices we complain about.
I believe we audiophiles create the market for high performing audio equipment, which in turn allows electronic engineers with a desire to create great sounding audio equipment the opportunity to do so. Take for example companies like Audio Resea...
Sonus faber lumin v or sonetto iii
Sonus Faber to me are uniquely natural sounding. I first heard them about 17 years ago along with a whole bunch of others… including Martin Logan, Focal and B&W. The only word I could think of was organic… natural… not ethereal like the Martin...
Connecting USB streamer server to I2s RJ45 input of DAC?
The WiFi extender for my system is located the floor below my router and on the opposite side of the house… so I am thinking 55’ horizontally or so. Works flawlessly.
Sonus faber lumin v or sonetto iii
I am a big fan of the Sonus Faber sound. I have owned three pair. Also, each move up the ladder represents sonic improvement. I think the difference will be obvious. They should share the same sound characteristics… but better bass. After listenin...
2019 Mac Pro vs. Roon
I recommend you borrow a good quality streamer… like an Aurender, Aries, Linn or some other audiophile streamer. That will make the difference clear. They sound significantly better… assuming you buy one at the appropriate level for your system.  ...

@1971gto455ho    There is a place to put photos of your system and identify your system components under your UserID.
Audio Research SP17
OP, Audio Research has chosen relatively new, made specifically for high end audio tubes. So these are not tubes made decades ago and have all sorts of variations. Personally, I buy Audio Research to sound like they intended it to sound like, not...
Basic switch....should I upgrade?
@fredrik222    I get where you are coming from, but a good streamer will cashe and isolate from the switch… TCPIP will provide replacement packets, basically making up for the switches deficiencies.
