Power cable dilemma
The Pangea AC-14… assuming that was what you have is made for components like CD players. So, it is made for low current applications. It is also very far at the low end of the budget category, so, I would be surprised if it would sound better tha...
Does a brand new electrical circuit for audio gear benefit from burn in/break in time?
@akg_ca    Thanks for relating your experience. Sounds like you had a good test situation. When I recently put in a new direct line, I noticed a substantial increase in sound quality, but not change after that. But I wasn’t paying close attentio...
Aurender N10 display issue
@jl1ny   +1 yep my experience as well. For those that don’t understand what it means to diagnose and fix remotely. I my case, I sent a message through the Conductor app that I had an issue. During the night they logged on to my Aurender strea...
Dedicated Line - Things to consider
@immatthewj    Yes, universal agreement on the benefit of direct lines. Sure, beyond that, I am sure there is additional benefit to audiophile  grade wire, specifics of the hookups, increasing grounding… it goes on forever. I just tend to go one...
Power cords: Anticable vs Mad Scientist
@soix    Thank you. I enjoy sharing, but also I learn from other thoughtful folks, like yourself and by thinking about the questions posed.
Too much power?
OP, It seems you are investigating the right things. I have had season tickets to the Oregon Symphony for ten years, 7th row center. Over this time the softest music slowly rises out of a black background and crescendos we’re a bit to much for my...
Dedicated Line - Things to consider
Dedicated lines are a critical component in improving sound quality of your system. You want two and using 10 gauge wire. One for your amp(s) and one for your power conditioner and the rest of your equipment. Beyond this, if you want go further y...
New DAC or New Streamer?
I am retired as well. The value in my audio system has increased so much because I have time to listen to it each day.   I think if I were you I would upgrade your streamer. Each will make a difference but I think it very likely your streamer wi...
AES/EBU vs XLR cables for digital connection
There is a fundamental difference between using a AES vs USB connection. In general, the USB puts more functions on your DAC (like reclocking) and was developed for the PC when it started being used as a streamer… before that the majority of digit...
What can I do between the wall and my streamer/DAC?
Much of the responsibility of sound quality rests on your streamer. So, you can fiddle with your routers and cables or concentrate on a great streamer. For me, I use wall wart wifi extenders and great streamers (Aurender N100 and W20SE) and get so...
Power cords: Anticable vs Mad Scientist
@soix    Thx, 👍.   There are a number of folks doing that, I don’t get it. What is in it for them?
Too much power?
I find the ideal volume depends on your whole system. But in general, the better my system has gotten, the less volume is needed.    Over the decades I have pursued this hobby, more power has increased the punch and fullness in solid state amps. ...

Power cords: Anticable vs Mad Scientist
@ebm, @tsushima1 Could you elaborate? I choose wires from heavily reviewed companies which I have experience with. So, over the decades: Harmonics, Staightwire, Transparent, WireWorld, AudioQuest, Cardas, DHLabs, … etc. I have tried some “new”…...
Aurender N10 display issue
Aurender remote support is great. Just go into settings and Help… send them a message. They can remote diagnose. Perhaps it is a setting.
