@charles1dad   My Aurenders are connected to my wifi extenders with an Ethernet cable.   George
streaming and audiophile stereo
@bill_peloquin    I would recommend a Aurender N150 or if that is too much then a used Aurender N100… You should be able to get this for less than $2500 allowing you to jump forward a huge step.
integrated amp for Wilson Sabrina X
You have to add Pass and Boulder to the list. I would definitely consider Pass. Listen to both the X series and XA. The XA is much warmer and more natural sounding.
Do I buy an upscale TT?
There are world class turntables based on idler arm, sprung, and unsprung. Personally, unless one is strongly rewarded by nostalgia for a youthful experience or reproducing a “sound” from your history, it makes no sense to buy old tables. The form...

@charles1dad …”Of course this represents heresy to the D.I.Y. streaming inclined.”   Yes, of course. I am sure it is great fun. For fun, I did a bunch of DIY cables. For me, I quickly realized I had other things of greater priority.    Yes, the...
"Tuning" CD's

Wow. After a quick review of this thread, I’d like to make something clear to folks not familiar with streaming:   This thread is a DYI… techno-nerd thread. For folks fascinated with playing with technology. There is absolutely nothing wrong wit...
Speakers for Atma Sphere M60 mk3
OP, It is very likely if you like the sound of your speakers now , then a high quality tube amp will really make them sound even better. At least to me Mark Levinson is accurate and very polite… but doesn’t communicate the emotion of the music. I...
Where to spend my money...
OP, Wow. Sorry to hear so many useless replies. There is no end to the improvements you can make. The big question, which one first? Which is what I think you asked.   It would be tremendously helpful to see your system and venue. There is a pl...
Do I need 10 gauge power cord if I have 10 gauge from panel?
OP, You are trying to reduce a multi-variable question into a single question. The answer can easily be yes or no… depending. If you have to reduce this to the grade school level… yes, you should have a 10 gauge. But the question is far more comp...
Recommend A New DAC Between $1000 and $2000
Oh, I was not paying attention. A Schiit Yggdrasil DAC. Outstanding sound for the money, even if a tad over your price point. It competes favorably with DACs of twice the cost. I did a deep dive into budget DACs for a friend of mine, in the proce...
"Tuning" CD's
I used Allstop (?)… the yellow edge marker on all CDs. It seemed to improve the sound a bit on my earlier CD players. I experimented a fair amount 25 years ago to verify. There was a little lathe to cut the sides. All, intending, I believe to stop...
streaming and audiophile stereo
@russbutton   You are correct that bits a bits. File transfer protocols will assure you that a file in one place is exactly that, bit for a bit,  the same as in an another location. Also, the DAC is a very important component of your system. Ho...
Speakers for Atma Sphere M60 mk3
Typically most folks build their system around the sound of their speakers. Sonus Faber speakers have a unique, natural, and musical sound. They sound particularly good driven with tubes. Do you like the sound of the speakers?   I have Sonus Fab...
Tough amp decision
@grislybutter  At ~$1500… I certainly would not go with mono blocks… a lot of extra chassis cost for inexpensive internal components. Maybe even for separates. My office system has a PrimaLuna integrated amp. I think at that price point… if you c...
