Wall outlets Thanks for posting your virtual system. Very nice. It really helps with recommendations. If you are installing direct lines I think it makes sense to install audiophile grade outlets. By the way. A case of beer is too much to install an outlet… ...
Base trap spacing @audphile1 +1 Very well thought out and presented. I think you are right if you do the job correctly you will be much better off.
Cable elevators @squared80 A lot of folks start out skeptical about differences in sound quality. Then they upgrade or swap something that should not matter and the difference is simply stunning. The uninformed “that can’t make a difference” goes out the window...
Besides Krell XD amps, who makes "smart home" friendly amp, IP control, Telenet, RS232? OP, Thanks for your comments. I find your comments about turning off channels very interesting. I have never had a system capable of doing that… great idea. FYI, when I mention noise, I am talking about noise floor… not actual distinctly a...
Dr. Feickert Analogue Woodpecker turntable @mijostyn +1 @JasonBourne Seems to mean a turntable arm and cartridge looks like the pen and arm on the old paper seismographs. But there are no physical similarities in how the function. To prevent my TT from being a seismograph (pic...
Help me choose an Audio Research preamp/line stage (Please?) @dmaddox77 +1 Highly recommended.
2 Questions on tube replacement But wait… there still may be someone that adamantly claims something to the contrary.

Why Don’t You Post Your System on Your Profile? @grislybutter Sorry you have been having so much trouble. I am not aware of any of my posts being deleted… well, except accidentally by myself.
Besides Krell XD amps, who makes "smart home" friendly amp, IP control, Telenet, RS232? Very cool features. I must admit surprised it is added to any high end audio equipment. Normally the rule is as few features and functions as they tend to add to noise and slightly reduce reliability… and clear;y increase support costs.
Why Don’t You Post Your System on Your Profile? @grislybutter You are very sensitive. Especially for being on a free forum. When they turned on the new security of having phone and address I could no longer post… although both were there. Then it dawned on me to click on edit my address, ...
Luxman L-509X vs Luxman L-509Z I have listened to the X. I have yet to find a high end audio company where their flagship does not very noticeably out perform their lessor lines. Folks that have compared say the Z has greater detail, implying lower noise floor and is much more ...
Competitive class D amp suggestions OP, Congradulations and thank you for sharing.
Do hi-end DACs offer true value or diminishing return... OP, By one microphone hanging… I assume you actually mean two… stereo. But! Multi-mixing completely screws up the acoutics of the space and hence the essence of the orchestra… when playing multiple instrument. Completely destroys the acousti... |
