Maybe looking at the following to replace my Magico S-5 MK 1 A couple of Wilson Audio models, Focal Sopra. Wasn't always a fan of either brand but either I have come around or they have. LOL. Several factors were at play for me, I have a large volume room that is pretty hot, I don't listen at high volume le...
Maybe looking at the following to replace my Magico S-5 MK 1 Of the three you have listed, I have heard all three although NOT nearly within an acceptable time period. Different audio shows. Among them, I prefer the Martens. I value reasonably full range without brightness. It all depends though on your pre...
Digital vs Vinyl: The winner is ?? Interesting. The control group doing the comparisons, the standard deviations were interesting with the sd of those who prefer analog treble quite a bit wider. The important thing here what digital tape machine and what analog tape machine were us...
McIntosh Mc-500 Did you arrange the shipping or the seller? Whomever arranged and contracted the shipping owns the problem.
to bi-wire or not? Also depends on the quality of your existing jumpers. If they aren’t up to the task, then you may hear benefits from bi-wiring but it will have more to do with the removal of the poor quality jumpers from the chain than the act of bi-wiring itself.
McIntosh Mc-500 Return it. The glass being broken indicates a firm strike. Your money though.
Voxative Hagan Keithr, yes, very much. Unfortunately though, they are now in a much smaller space in Colorado. Listed them for sale but I'll keep them rather than firesale them. They are truly extraordinary. You still on the Dartzeel wagon?
Voxative Hagan Full range with the exception of the top end and the bottom octaves. This speaker is very much a bookshelf equivalent.

Cary 805 vs v12 Are you sure about that? I believe the original version of the amp used 805 output tubes accompanied by 6SL7's with EL34's for drivers.
Cary 805 vs v12 There is no comparison unless you need the additional dynamic snap of the v12. The 805 amp series from Cary was Dennis Had's gift to the audio community. Really helped along the renaissance for tube amplification. The 805's are special. Both will h...
"Tube Devialet" - The ifi retro stereo 50 amp/dac First of all, it pushes at least 20 solid watts per channel with those output tubes, the mag(rag) dead is wrong. I think the amp and its packed feature set is terrific in context. An all tube integrated with inboard phono stage, dac, a fine headph...
