Change to Horns or stay Dynamic I done horns, planners and dynamic speakers - some a couple of times. It was fun, painful and rewarding. Each time I settled on a speaker type I had changed out other components to better match that speaker type. So figure that in too, because it ...
Lamm ML2.1 Tubes I have the same opinion as you. After trying NOS Tele's and NOS GE's, I've decided the stock tubes sounded more like I wanted to hear. I must not have those golden ears or in the Lamm ML2.1 circuit design there's no improvement to be gained. I'm n...
TW Raven Acustic AC Owners Stilkin, thanks for the kind words. I recommended a closet because I do think isolation is paramount if not always practical. Do what you can. But you can get too smart and design what you think is just what you need - like me. In my case I design...
TW Raven Acustic AC Owners This solution is not practical for most and I realize the my not be possible for you. How about thinking out of the bigger box into a smaller box. Put you entire front end in a near by closet on your choice stand solution. Maybe you can spend less...

Can you Listen to Vinyl Casually?? I do the same thing all the time. Though my analog collection and analog front end is way-way better than my digital side because of the way I've spent my money. Still, when outside, I do really enjoy my ipod.
Time to move on, Quad, Coincident or Ref 3a Quad 2805 or Reference 3A Grand Veena would be my choices- both are very musical and are audiophile favorites The Reference are smaller "visually" and might "fit in" a greater variety of room situations from what I have read. I've owned Quad's sev...
Wilson MAXX musicallity and sound Speaker position maybe your biggest problem. Can you get a Wilson dealer in to help you "voice" (position) your speakers? Additionally, maybe Lamm, VTL, ARC or CAT might get you closer to what you want than your Accuphase and Air Tight combination.
choice of ref pre amps If tubes are your choice them Wavestream Kinetics and Tron must be at the top of your list. For SS there's a Dartzeel on gon no, maybe Ayre, but the best is Connoisseur 4.2.
What is the BEST phono stage Tjnif, did you get a home demo with the Tron or the Evans Groves +?

Koetsu cartridges - myth or reality? I agree with Kurt_tank's critique. I have three generations of the RS (two rebuilt) and two Onyx Platinum Signature (one rebuilt). The Onyx is a stone family member and is much more precise in the highs, mids and low frequencies than the the Rosew...
