Streamer with R2R DAC clio OP @George: can you suggest some small footprint R2R examples, please? Soekris from Denmark, high accuracy discrete R2R with volume control, very good from what I’m hearing and from where/who it counts. My favourites the Dac1421 and Dac1541, ...
Two subwoofers for two channel music listening Still I will stick what REL is telling me over you. Like I said, go with what you want, maybe Rel has got a sus low level input on their subs, who knows, show us a circuit diagram for some clarity.
Two subwoofers for two channel music listening I am more inclined to believe REL. Go with what you like Did you see and comprehend the circuit link I posted that all subs do similar to.And any tech will tell you line level has less distortions noise ect than speaker level will have. Cheers G...
Two subwoofers for two channel music listening Seriously, not sure it is worth the hassle, but could consider it. You get cleaner tighter lows, using the line level. Cheers George
Two subwoofers for two channel music listening You take them from your pre/source, you can stick these on the pre’s output or the Belle’s input to get a line level to each of the subs. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1pcs-1-RCA-Male-Plug-To-Dual-2-RCA-Female-Jack-T-Adapter-Connector-Gold-...https:...
Two subwoofers for two channel music listening You will get a cleaner signal (bass) from the line level, as an amps speaker output, is far dirtier. Also this is what happens inside a sub, follow the speaker level input and it goes through a "dropping opamp" IC11A and then goes to the "line lev...
Streamer with R2R DAC +1 and some, on what mlsstl said about R2R vs DS.Cheers George
Two subwoofers for two channel music listening confuse_upgraditis OP Method one - Lets say the subs have high/speaker level inputs. So do you hook up the left sub from the left amplifier out and similarly right speaker out from the amp to right sub high level in? This set up is just like the s...
No preamp? Thanks cshadow. 10k ohms, although that’s still low Correct too low for passive pre’s and most tube preamps. And you need to make sure the output coupling cap on each of the tube preamp channels if using one, is 3.3uF or bigger which will be -3db a...
No preamp? The benefit of balanced interconnects (XLR) is that they reject noise better than single ended (RCA) interconnects. Only over very long distance >5mts, and if in a studio where there's wires on top of wires.Cheers George
Stereo systems are like Harleys https://electrek.co/2020/05/15/harley-davidson-livewire-electric-motorcycle-exceeds-range-speed/Finally a Harley that "could" compete with a good road bike like a Ducati etc etc maybe.Cheers George
No preamp? There is something up with the 1kohm balanced input impedance. I had a Coda No. 8 here connected to a PS Audio BHK tube preamp with balanced interconnects. Based on the low input impedance you would expect rolled off lows and generally poor sound ...
Which Component Has the Greatest Affect on Low-Level Listening Yep agree, a Loki is the Schiit, for this sort of thing, discrete very transparent, I use one "flat" as a buffer to drive my two sub woofers very transparent.Cheers George
Which Component Has the Greatest Affect on Low-Level Listening To me super efficient speakers driven passively by say a Schiit Aegir 20w Class-A. are the way for low level listening, "IF" you can handle their colorations/distortions, I can’t, "especially" horns.Cheers George
No preamp? cshadow Any thoughts as to a pre, or am I just wasting my time? Wasting time/money, if you get "going direct right" Your Coda TS V2 is a great amp, bi-polar output, no global feedback, just a little local feedback, and has 26db of gain for full o... |
