Interconnects, some have directional indicators, why?
Did my previous post fall on deaf ears Yeah, it’s just a reputation thing, I wouldn’t loose sleep over it.Cheer George

Just to ad to Ralph, why would Technics (SE-R1) strive to develop twice the current going switching frequency, if there was no point to it. But you pay for this first off development $30k! But the price will come tumbling down when others adopt it...

Usually you want the shield grounded at the source only. I believe the RF should be dumped into the ground of the least sensitive to RF end, being the poweramp. But hey! 6 of one 1/2 dozen of the other.Cheers George
Toslink red light AT&T st light?
I’m sure mine did on my Wadia with at&t optical output, but I had to switch to that output to make it happen and play music. Was a long time ago, and BTW it was the best sound of all the 3 or 4 outputs it had, but you had to get the widest ban...
Usher cp-6381, lacking in bass?
uberwaltzhowever the lower bass is not, what is there is nice and tight but does not seem to go overly low.Just a thought I remember reading.Your problem may be the AR LS2’s coupling cap, there has been quite a bit of talk about changing it on the...
Interconnects, some have directional indicators, why?
I'm curious as to why some interconnects are directional? Is there a physical internal difference and do they generally sound better and cost more than non-directional cables? Thanks for your interest. phdMy view on it and the way I always make th...
Wilson Sofia 2 vs marten dajango L
They might have 2ohms taps but can they deliver big current??An amp that "almost" doubles it’s wattage for each halving of impedance, is what’s needed to get the "very best" out of the bass of these hard to drive speakers. Sure amps that can’t do ...

Bel Canto Ref1000 Mk.IIThe newer Bel Canto e.One Ref600M monoblocks (that had the newest Hypex modules) with Belcanto’s own designed "series" output filters, these so far have sounded the best Class-D to me, and I thought, yes I could live with th...
Wilson Sofia 2 vs marten dajango L
The big'ish flagship ones I looked at have very hard to drive low bass similar to the Martins. Just go into Stereophile and look at the impedance v phase graphs of all the speakers they have reviewed. And look for something like the 4 I posted 2 p...

@uberwaltzKeep your Krell KAV250 (nice amp) for a while yet, read my reasons here.   https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/class-d-technology Cheers George

shadorneEasy. Stay well away from Marten ceramic drivers (accuton I believe). Get the Wilson. The sound of the Wilson Sophia 2 is extremely realistic - especially in the all important mid range.Ceramic or rigid drivers suffer from the "ring like a...

Marchand pr41 passive preamp
sprungbt Which Marchand Xover is it, as I use them and could always do with another one and could do a deal with you for a Lightspeed Attenuator?https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/lightspeed-attenuator-best-preamp-ever Cheers George
Where do I set volume control on NAD M51 DAC?
The Nad only puts out 2.375V SE at full output, a little over the Redbook standard and should pose no overload problems for any well designed preamp. If you do reduce it, try to stay at 75% or higher, as some digital domain volume control can "bit...

George what speakers do match the phase of McIntosh ? Here are just some in the same’ish price range class that the OP mentioned, from Stereophile impedance v -phase angle graphs that transformer coupled amps like push/pull tubes and McIntosh shou...
