PADIS vs Furutech fuses Goofykate makes his living fleecing people so it’s obvious he’s going to be a believer. I have tried both Furutech and hi-fi tuning and they don’t make any difference. FOr anyone impressionable that may be reading this thread, save your money! F...
New Yggdrasil - First (and second) Impressions fact that the Yggy is mulitbit R2R ladder technology, whereas the other DACs I have are all Delta-Sigma. Further, the buzz is such that it leads one to believe mulitbit is "audibly better". This is correct, when both are trying to convert pcm, cd...
PADIS vs Furutech fuses Not everything blew up Without Ohm's Law, and all the other electronic laws, everything blew up or didn't work, FULL STOP!!!!!Cheers George
PADIS vs Furutech fuses But what did everyone do before measurements? https://i.pinimg.com/736x/d2/38/ca/d238ca3df765fd751a8d79bd4454f3de--vintage-medical-hearing-aids.jpg Cheers George
PADIS vs Furutech fuses If all one does is follow measurements, then why double check and do the final tuning by ear? Every piece of equipment you have is designed with "measurements" and the laws of electronics, if it's not it's JUNK!!!Final testing by ear is to...
PADIS vs Furutech fuses These kinds of values would be overwhelmed by the ambient air temperature around a small signal transistor deviating by 2°C. Or change in wind direction during measurements, a bit like voodoo.Cheers George
PADIS vs Furutech fuses Glad to see some actual measurements! Thank you! Not those again, they're so minuscule (millionth's of ohms) the wind must have changed direction when the measurements were done, that's only been published to convince the naive who can't even m...
PADIS vs Furutech fuses nonoise The detail, breadth of sound that emanates out of instruments, added rhythm and pacing, and increase in the realism of human voices is a bit mystifying, leaving me to wonder just how compromised my system has been all this time. Kind of t...
Schiit Yggdrasil -- 21 bit? Really guys, 20bit-21bit.Does it really matter, a PCM-1704 is 24bit, and your hard pressed to hear any difference to the almost swap-able (save for the package difference) 20bit PCM-1702 and that’s 4bit difference.Cheers George
How could 100 Watt class a has more head room than a 300 Watt amp Class AB A Class A single ended amp gets rid of whatever crossover distortion might exist in push pull circuits so there’s that, and when exposed to this phenomena the listener is rendered a better person almost instantly. +1 for that, and that’s any clas...
Low output gain amplifier for ZU 101db Efficient speakers Look at things logically, a horn speakers worst friend is noise, and you have too much gain from the pre and the amp, maybe even the source.Get rid of the one you think has more noise, the tube pre or the ss amp.And replace it with a lower or zero...
Looking for a new dac-need opinions from the community and a Schiit Yggdrasil (WTF with these names already) for Redbook playback. Ditto that if you just do PCM redbook cd 16/44 or 24/96Cheers George
Low output gain amplifier for ZU 101db Efficient speakers aberyclark Low output gain amplifier for ZU 101db Efficient speakers With speakers that are over 98dB there's really no advantage in having a preamp with gain, as you've found it's a diadvatage, you'll find many now are starting to go for pass...
Chord Dave " I actually was underwhelmed by the DAVE in my system ." At present a reviewer friend is doing a review the new Chord Hugo, he has the top Total dac himself, passive preamp, Wilson Alexia and Gryphon Antilion Evo as his reference system. He told...
Why not batteries instead of power supplies? I used a capacitance multiplier circuit on a preamp once, worked very well, bit hard to do on a poweramp though.http://electronics-diy.com/electronic_schematic.php?id=486 Cheers George |
