Klipsch K Horns (the new AK6)
No idea, no mater how much extra $$$$$$ anyone throws at them with correction electronics, you not going to be able to correct all those flaws, you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear.
Ceiling fan in listening room?
Ceiling fans, bad news they blow the sound stage image aroundhttps://images.app.goo.gl/wu2H9gua3MkHH2qp9

Mijostyn why would I want to throw all that expense and musicality saping electronics into a speaker trying to correct it,s flaws, that at 15k it should have. Now that,s being totally i*****c !
Are Martin Logans considered polite?
Martin Logan's can sound recessed in the upper mids/highs, especially in the highs decay, with tube amps, because ML esl's dive down to .9ohm impedance in that area and tubes don't like those sort of impedance loads. Roger Mojeski's tube amp could...
Input impedance and preamp caps
@thewatcher101With a 20kohm input amp, no need to go any larger than 10uF, as a 10uf cap into 20kohm amp will calculate to be -3db at 0.8hz, so even 5uF will do Cheers George
Remote Control (Passive) Preamp
No need to spend a fortune, you can add a remote to any passive, this kit suits my Lightspeed Attenuator for $19, don't know how long the hand remote will last, that why I don't supply them. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/9V-Infrared-Remote-Control-...
What volume level should a DAC be set to when feeding your Pre Amp
I’ll have a listen to the DAC to Power (bypassing the E-470’s pre) and see what this turns up. I’m sure you’ll be surprised, it’s a better even more transparent/dynamic configuration that what Nelson Pass said above that I posted.Cheers George
What volume level should a DAC be set to when feeding your Pre Amp
plb02 OP It seems like your on a winner, it looks from other posts you have the Accuphase E470 integrated, it has poweramp inputs at 1.5v in for full wattage output on the back so you can forget about the preamp section, for the best most transpar...
What volume level should a DAC be set to when feeding your Pre Amp
I may be mistaken but figured this was working the Amp harder. No the same, just letting the same amount of input signal through the volume pot to the power amp section, instead of shunting it to ground when the dac's vc is higher.Cheers George

but it would take a lot of amps, an electronic crossover and DSP. What happens with all that then is "sterility" with what seem to me, no harmonic decay, too much electronics digital and analog between the source and the speakers, I’ve heard it ...
What volume level should a DAC be set to when feeding your Pre Amp
What volume level should a DAC be set to when feeding your Pre Amp I have an Accuphase DAC (DC-901) with a digital volume control that feeds my Pre Amp/Accuphase integrated Amp. Dacs volume up close to full, or you can run the risk of "bit strip...
Parasound JC-1 - How old is too old?
Hot enough that you would not want to keep your hand on the heat sink. I measured them at high bias (28c ambient) at 55c, internal was the same, no problem for those excellent Japanese Nichicon Gold caps. So don’t worry OP buy them.Cheers George
Klipsch K Horns (the new AK6)
all george did was comment on the horrible measurements of this loudspeaker. it seems like its the klipsh defense brigade who are here in full force waving their colors who are the emotional ones here. George just stated facts, straight and simpl...
Klipsch K Horns (the new AK6)
No surprise that georgehifi started a thread trashing them. He's a well known horn hater. Really!!! shows just how much you know, I owned and lived with pairs of La Scala's, Heresy's and a pair of Forte's, the Forte's to me were the most honest...
Parasound JC-1 - How old is too old?
If anyone has re-capped their JC-1s, how old were they, and how much did it cost? Thanks for the help. Even if you got the first ones, they’d still be good for another 10-20 years. They used quality caps, Japanese Nichicon Gold. https://www.parasou...
