What Class D amps will drive a 2 ohm load
You guys are just p***ing against the wind quoting big watts, and not quoting the wattage for each halving of impedance at 8, 4, and 2ohms It’s not about the big watts, Class-D P.A. amps like Crown ect can do that. It’s about the amp being able to...
What Class D amps will drive a 2 ohm load
The reason you are putting **** on this type of speaker, is that class-d won't drive them to their maximum sound quality. These types of speakers are engineered to be far closer to having ideal test mearsurements and sound perfection than easy to ...
What Class D amps will drive a 2 ohm load
Speakers like these Thiel CS5's, their bigger bother the CS7's, all Wilson Watt/Puppy, Alexia's mkI an mkII, also the Alex, Max ect ect ect and many other brands, have sound to behold when "driven" with amps that can do current, that can keep doub...
What Class D amps will drive a 2 ohm load
Yeah your speakers are one of the greats but need a equally great amp to do them justice, especially in the bass. Those here that say x class-d can, can not show independent test resuts that show the 8ohm wattage doubling to 4ohms and then the mos...
Bricasti M1 owners- a question-
Set the output fixed level so the digital volume control is up near full for loud listening, this way you won’t run the risk of "bit stripping" if the volume is too low.Cheers George
What Class D amps will drive a 2 ohm load
You’ve got one of the greats in those Thiel CS5’s dsper, but are seriously hard to drive. The OP has asked which Class-D can "DRIVE" a 2ohm load, not one that won’t occillate or blow up into a 2ohm load, and not be able to drive it fully.I’ve seen ...
Pin point imaging isn't for everyone
Yes the "Decca Tree" technique was a three mic boom (left centre right) over the orcheschra which captured those early Decca recording imaging properties when listen to with good speakers like Quad 57’s, but sadly the image got splashed all over t...
Impact of phase inversion by preamp
"They" whoever they are, I can't rembemer, it was said back in the 80's.Say that "if" the inital bass driver movement is into the room, that you get a better leading edge attack to the sound of a bass note.?????This is most probably why it's said ...
Final Retirement Amplifier-Class A-Upcoming Gryphon Essence Stereo vs Accuphase A75
Both very good amps. The Accuphase would probably use global feedback, where I'm sure the Gryphon's I believe all use local feedback, which has always to me if done right sounds better in the vocals body department . Without hearing them side by ...
Impact of phase inversion by preamp
Easiest way to think about it Is if phase correct the bass drivers initial movement on a note, is forward into the room, thus pushing your eardrum inwards. The opposite happens if your system is inverted. Cheers George
Pin point imaging isn't for everyone
If your system can't let you see movement of artists, especialy with Reference Recordings like Douge McCloud where you can even see left and right head movements while he sings/talks, then you don't have a good imaging system and should not even c...
Pin point imaging isn't for everyone
Pin point imaging isn't for everyoneReally! this bs from owners of horns ect types, that have speakers that don't image. Why do we go to concerts to "see" the real thing, our systems if imaging well give us the next best thing to "seeing" them live.
Coated woofer - why?
Btw this was the way Sonus Faber did the same FS (resonant frequency) lowering and stiffening of their bass cones on their stuningly magical sounding Extremas.https://images.app.goo.gl/w9frGfkLN9dfrJoJ6Cheers George
Coated woofer - why?
Back in the days when i made my own speakers I used to do it to add mass to lower the FS (free air resonance) of the driver and to stiffen the cone. The way it was done to have a nice ripple effect is to face the driver upwards paint it with thick ...
