can I drive Firstwatt amps directly from the source?
can I drive Firstwatt amps directly from the source? I like the purity I hear running this way. Yes agreed, nothing competes with direct source to amp if it’s possible, for purity, dynamics, no coloration, and the minimal amount of noise, compare...
Bridged amps
Sorry first word in the above post, should be NO!!! not yes
Bridged amps

Class D is just Dandy!
Nothing was addressed to you at all, I was addressing listening99 post. You can’t let it go sunshine, you really are a cretinAs for heaudio123 and your comment about me having 2 accounts, that could almost be slanderous, put up or shutup!!
Class D is just Dandy!
I heartily recommend the NuForce STA 200 to anyone looking for bargain solid state audiophile amplification, but it does not do well when pushed to 4ohms and below. Nuforce went back to linear amps, but this is STA200 is just a reincarnation of...
Matching fully balanced with unbalanced.
surfmuz OP Hi, using Fully Balanced VS Unbalanced Preamp between Fully Balanced Source and Unbalanced Amp with all XLR Interconnections including amp.... Does it wort it or not ? First off, you got to ascertain by looking at a circuit diagram of ...
is it possible to make digital audio sound like vintage vinyl
I have a similar question, is it possible to make CD sound like vinyl? That’s what I did for the older cd’s. It’s to "ruin" the 120db of channel separation that cd has by bleeding left and right together has from 20hz to 20khz and bring it’s chann...
is it possible to make digital audio sound like vintage vinyl
DSP - Vinyl Emulation Mode No where does it say what’s done to do it, my guess is to mimic the left to right separation that vinyl does so poorly compared to digital. What I said earlier in this thread"Here is the best channel separation a Lyra D...
Schiit Freya+ vs. high end (e.g., Mcintosh) ?
Considering the Schiit Freya+ but will I regret it? I know they have a great trial period So what's stopping you? If you can send it back.Cheers George
MSB vs dCS Bartok
From experience with digital domain VC’s below 75 and the bit stripping starts lower the worse it gets. It sounds like less resolution and dynamic drive are what I hear effected, "almost" a compression.Cheers George
Benchmark ABH2 compared to Merrill Element Series and other ultra high end amps
soundhound OP Most comments seem to find that bridged mono’ed amps work better than a single amp into full range stats Most comments are BS then, as the ML’s ESL's present down to 1ohm loading and this is not nice for bridged amps, let alone goo...
Pre-amp selection advice needed
phuoctue Pre-amp selection advice needed Just be careful you already have a dac that put’s out 3v!! most amps are at full power with 1- 2v in. So what you need is a preamp with "low or zero gain", other wise you’ll be turning down the Chord volu...
Looking for Linear Power Supply for my Mytek Brooklyn DAC. Suggestions?
wsrrsw GeorgehifiI do have solar but the inverter is 300+ feet away. Good right? It’s our back and not on roof.Better maybe you have to try, could be just lower in intensity if it were closer to the hifi circuit.Because if you think, no matter how...

plus compander like DBX-3BX Sorry but they sound shocking, sound goes through 2 million or was that 3 million of the worst 1970’s opamps ever made. http://www.ka-electronics.com/images/jpg/3BX.JPG Cheers George.
Ps Audio BHK Signature vs Parasound Halo A 21+
There is more to amplifier design that the kind of output transistor used Read everything, that why this is said at the end.  So to me it comes down to what speaker you have, and if they are easy load and suits both amps, then try to listen to...
