cbd0815 OP An Integrated Amp for Golden Ear Triton One.R Speakers in a relatively large space (30’ x40’) To get the best out of them, especially in the bass, in a big room your going to need CURRENT!! You can’t go wrong with a new or used a John...

Class-D recommendation
tinear123 OP Looking for a class-D recommendation. The amp will be from 30 - 600Hz. Everything above 600Hz is taken care of by a class-A amp. You’ve got the right amp there for the mids and highs, for the bass and lower mids a Class-D is a good c...
Wilson Alexia 2
carey1110 My reviewer mate has the Mercedes Silver and they look stunning, he went through many amps, in the end it was the Gryphon Antillion Evo that couldn't be headed.Cheers George
McIntosh, your experience?
McIntosh, your experience? Made great tube amps, back when. Then lost the way and compromised trying to make SS amps and putting output autoformers on the rear end of them, to make them "bullet proof". Very much like using a "O" Autoformer on amp...
Ported versus sealed speakers: is one type better?
Here are the T&S parameters needed for the ideal ported enclosure, if you think you can just throw a sock in the port and have a sealed (IB) enclosure to suit the same driver, your nutz. http://www.woofertester.com/images/wt2_tsparameters.gif....
Ported versus sealed speakers: is one type better?
A lot of c**p being sprayed around here. Drivers have a huge amount of specs and have preference for one or the other enclosures if built correctly. To say to plug a port on a ported enclosure and believe the same driver is still in now an ideal s...

Bridged amps
gfry OP Wow, they look very much like the Forte I used to have, to me the only real musical Klipsch made. Your Quartets you have from what I saw on the net are 97.5 dB efficiency. I think a great sounding good priced amp for those, if you don’t wa...
Why don’t tube amps sound like tubes anymore?
hiendmmoe Why don’t tube amps sound like tubes anymore?  I found with many of the tube amps I owned (especially remember a pair of  100w switchable ultralinear/triode/pentode monoblocks 4 x NOS 6550 GE mil spec each amp I had), "and improv...
New Linear Parasound Halo JC1+ monoblocks, an even more improved new John Curl design
Some serious current ability, peak output current is specified as 180amps!!!, to drive down to 2ohms without a sweat, as the distortion figures don’t change from 8 to 4 to 2ohms. The JC 1+ is specified as being able to deliver 450W into 8 ohms (26...
Ported versus sealed speakers: is one type better?
Nevile Thiel (rip) once said to me. You get an extra octave of low frequency with ported designs, but it’s at the expense of a little coloration, port noise, and I believe also bass tightness and speed, compared to very good infinite baffle design...
Bridged amps
Just get a better "stereo amp" with the wattage you need without having to compromise it by bridging it. And if you can't afford that kind of amp for your speakers that may need it, get rid of the speakers.Cheers George
