High end Class D amps?
It looks like in the Dragon they use the NC500. I assume they’re doing what every other manufacturer that uses this module they’re adding their sound with theirs or a third party external buffer. Or even better if your source has balanced output ...
Class D
Like I said  zappas OP don't trust anything the manufacturers or shillers say, independent test figures are much closer to the truth, they tell the real story.Cheers George
Class D
zappas OP Just use your "common sense" when asking why? when ever Class-D is bench tested, why it is they never give the 2ohm wattage, or advertised and compared to the 8 or 4ohm wattage And sometimes even stated that they try 2ohms but the amp sw...
Class D
zappas D amp to reduce clutter. Most that I see are not rated at 2 ohms. As said in my first post, they don’t give it as they either turn off going into protection mode, or they are current starved into 2ohms, or the worst oscillate. Your speaker...
Class D
zappas OP Some here have no idea, believe Stereophile’s tester JA and his measurements that I posted, he has more knowledge in his little toe, than most of the self proclaimed know all’s here.Cheers George

Take that with a grain of salt. Not that much in it, balanced is slightly better below -130db!!!  and looking at all the noise makers in the background tubes, laptops, screens, test gear etc etc with SMP buzzing their brain out, it’s no wonder the ...

A deeper more holographic soundstage.
placing one kit along a side wall means a lot more money needs to be spent on cables, be they speaker or interconnects. If you listen to a system that you don’t care about getting the best out of it, then that makes sense. My rack is vertical, bu...
Living room system: class A or AB amps?
The louder you play a high biased class-A the cooler they run. The trick is to switch it to low bias when it's idle and not playing music.Cheers George
A deeper more holographic soundstage.
make sure you disengage your eyes from the equation No No, the whole point is to hear and see the image and depth perception of all the music. Nothing better than being able to point out with your eyes a loan cymbal or triangle being struck up the...
Living room system: class A or AB amps?
Class A amps do sound good very quickly after fire up, Because they (at least mine do) reach around 80% of their "A" bias straight away, the other 20% takes a bit longer once the heatsinks get warmed up.This is why I always recommend "if you ha...
