Class D To others that care about these forums. All we have are manufacturers and their shills, with incessant agenda to get he ball rolling on their latest class-D products, and they use these forums to slyly advertise what they have coming up for sale, ...
Converting two-car garage to listening room. What would you do? passthedutchie This gave me fantastic pinpoint imaging right across the room and depth way out into the backyard. Nothing between the speakers as I said in my last post, yet still gave bass loading from the short walls behind the speakershttps://i...
Converting two-car garage to listening room. What would you do? passthedutchie Your off to a flying start with a cement slab floor spike your speaker into it and adjust the spikes so they don't move/rock even the tiniest bit in any plane For the best imaging and depth perception, design it so there nothing ...
Looking for a CD player I like the Audiolab CDT6000 a bit more than the Cabridge CXC. Wow! without hearing them A/B’d, and just seeing what’s gone into the circuit design inside, I "would" have said the CXC, and it also has a proper CD tray loader not a cheap computer s...
Red Plating?? chinook9 OP Yes you have 10v higher mains, you must be nearer the big pole/sidewalk mount transformers that have many taps and boost or lower the voltage on your mains line. The nearer you are to them the higher the mains voltage, the further away...

Class D This statement is wildly incorrect! So this isn’t just about power!! It’s more about power, because you can’t see the forest for the trees, with what Mark Levinson tried to do by series up "low order" output filters (so they don’t burn out) and t...
Red Plating?? chinook9 OP Red plating is not good even slight, because both are doing the same it means the tubes are being pushed to their max, either because the tubes are overrated or the mains voltage in your area is higher, than where the amp was built, in...
Red Plating?? Sorry didn’t see you have cathode biasing, (auto bias). You could get them converted to fixed biasing, by someone close to you that’s good with tubes, could cost around 2-3hrs labour, up side is you’ll get a little more wattage also.Cheers George
Red Plating?? I just noticed that they red plate a bit. Drop the bias 10%Cheers George
AR LS17SE Volume Control mike_ostradick OP Mike you already have too much gain, you don’t need an active preamp with even more gain.Get yourself a good 10ohm passive preamp, this gives an output impedance max of 2.7kohm and into your 30kohm poweramp you still have more th...
Class D Sorry, again, your show how ridiculous your statements are.
looking for a Integrated amp $6,000 range The Gryphon Diablo looks interesting. I also think they have an ESS Sabre32 dac input board option if needed.Cheers George |
