Speakers positionning
Following how exhibitors do things at the big shows is like lemmings jumping off a cliff.
Anyone used these audio ceramic slow blow fuses from Littlefuse?
Well, maybe so but on the other hand, never up, never in. Of course we could all find some super cheap audio thing - a cable, a CD player, a turntable, speakers, whatever. There’s a market for every purse and taste. It all depends on what you’re t...
full-scale orchestral music—best test of speakers’ potential?
Well, for one thing I never said CDs were inverted Polarity relative to master tapes. So please don’t put words in my mouth. This sounds like a last ditch effort on your part to win an argument. If you don’t know what I mean then perhaps you shoul...
power cord affects on video?
How do you know it’s the law of diminishing returns? Hint: You don’t. In audio the only constraints are the ones in your head. I suspect yours is a case of penny wise, pound foolish. No offense.
Power Cord suggestion please
Audioquest power cords, their new Hurricane and other high end power cords, are the ONLY audiophile power cords that are controlled for directionality. What does Audioquest know that no one else knows? Please, no more jokes that power cords can on...

You are orthogonal to reality.

Didn’t you get the memo? I bet you think it’s random. There are no standards for Polarity. - Old audiophile axiom

I doubt it.

Uh, it doesn’t matter whether the recording is in correct Polarity or if the system is in correct Polarity if you have a Polarity switch. If you don’t have a Polarity switch then it’s back to reversing + and - on speakers or amps. Even then you do...
A black hole went into my Marantz SA-10!
Well, that’s an interesting comment about the “nasty ringing of the top cover” since it may or may not be audible when playing music. Everything vibrates. From within and without. It helps to not tap the top cover with a metallic object whilst mus...
Speakers positionning
Speaking of distance between speakers, it’s a common misconception that wider apart is generally better. As fate would have it most speakers should actually be placed closer together than they are. Check it out. Once you overlook the closer togeth...

And you believed him? Just kidding...

Optimally the transport mechanism itself should be damped as well as the tray. In addition, the transformer, if there is one, should be isolated from the rest of the electronics. And the entire CD player should be isolated from very low frequency ...
