Speaker positioning games. Where can I go from here?
You have got to start with the speakers relatively close together, then move them slowly apart. Otherwise you’ll miss the best location. Hint: start at 4 feet apart and move them slowly wider apart. You might be surprised. As has been discussed ad...
High resolution digital is dead. The best DAC's killed it.
Wishful thinking, Georgie Boy. I didn’t fall off the turnip truck yesterday. I can hear a mouse fart at 20 yards. It’s so obvious. You must be deaf. Or superstitious, probably the latter....and you know something’s happening but you don’t know wha...

I suspect most audiophiles believe that generally the soundstage will be better when the speakers are wider apart and perhaps toed in to some degree. I’d like to disabuse them of that old wives tale. You can never find the absolute best locations ...

Tube amp buzz (amp, not speakers)
Well, after all, the AC is 60 cycles. Hmmmmm. The other troublesome thing about transformers is the rather significant magnetic field they produce.
How do I test new cables for faults before connecting them
If you have a good volt ohm meter you can test for directionality whilst you’re at it.
It was 50 years ago today....
Well, obviously it was really only three quarters of the Beatles the second half of their existence since Paul was replaced by a look-alike around 1966 following his untimely death. Fortunately, the look-alike had a very good singing voice and fit...
Bad case of upgrade fever
What? No tweaks? I’m shocked!

If I’m not mistaken Mapleshade was using dielectric biasing more than twenty years ago. I was in the show in Vegas with them in ‘97.

michaelgreenaudioI don't see a problem in recording nearly as much as I do with HEA playback.>>>>Bingo! It has always been so.
