SR makes quantum chips? For real?
I think I've Just Seen Absolute Proof That Audiophiles Are Insanely Gullible
Moto man wrote, "@geoffkait , I respectfully disagree. It’s not extrapolating one data point, which even then is subjective. It is discarding all of the nonsense reviews by "reviewers" and owners, and rely on tests that cannot be colored by precon...
Do you think audiophiles are the most gullible hobbyists
It's not that simple.  If I had the money and I spent a lot of money on say a Ferrari I would be happy. Or if I spent a lot of money on speakers, say Raidho or Rockport or Magico, I would be happy.  Obviously if you're a poor audiophile you will h...

"During the first listening session, Robert and I kept saying: "How can the system get better than this?" Well, after fitting the system with the RED fuses, the BLACK fuses were introduced."The Last Tweak Syndrome. It's difficult to imagine it can...

Moto man, what's next witches' dunking chairs?  But seriously, any double blind test, controlled test, A/B test, whatever is only one data point.  You cannot extrapolate one data point. If in fact most of the tests reveal the device actually works...
Is New Vinyl Exempt from Loudness Wars?
I suspect the real life situation with respect to dynamic range of vinyl and CD is well presented in the Dynamic Range Database.  If in fact it's true that CDs are overly compressed for playing in cars, which I'm actually not convinced is true, th...
Stylus Warm-up Time
Well, it would certainly make sense if the hair dryer in question was one of those new fangled ceramic or tourmaline jobs, you know, what with the negative ions and all.
Is New Vinyl Exempt from Loudness Wars?
Hello, it was actually the dude from Hydrogen Audio that intimated that the dynamic range is system dependent, which is a TRUE statement but irrelevant to the topic at hand.  Now that I think about it and I hope your don't feel like I'm jumping do...
Is New Vinyl Exempt from Loudness Wars?
Well, obviously the dynamic range of any recording is affected by the playback system including all components and room acoustics. but we are not talking about all of that, we are only concerning ourselves here with the recording that is presented...

I have a Mpingo disc on top of my Tice Clock.  Is that wrong?

I would imagine the primary labor intensity related to the making of the Beeswax fuse is taking the beeswax from the bees in the first place.
Is New Vinyl Exempt from Loudness Wars?
Hello, Mapman. But we’re not talking about resolution, at least on this particular thread, only dynamic range.  Myself, I don't see any correlation between dynamic range and resolution but I have heard opinions at variance with mine. As I just pos...
Is New Vinyl Exempt from Loudness Wars?
Mapman wrote,"The Adele that I am most familiar with is the tune "Skyfall" which was the theme song for the recent James Bond movie. I know and like it from a class at the gym (balance). I only have an mp3 download from Amazon so far and its not b...

That's interesting, Tom. How so?
Is New Vinyl Exempt from Loudness Wars?
I know I probably shouldn’t say this but there’s no escape from the horror of overly aggressive dynamic range compression. Shucks, even SACDs and Japanese SHM CDs and gasp DOWNLOADS are not exempt. You might even say you rip what you sow.
