Do you spend more time analyzing the sound of your system, worrying it could be better?
No complaints here, but it’s always fun try new stuff…
Cartridge Loading.....Part II
Ultimately it depends on your ears. There really isn’t a “right or wrong”. Personally, like others I have found 47k to be way to bright/harsh when tried. I have usually settled into more of a “loaded” sound than “unloaded” as I prefer the generall...
Yeah, I'm aware of what day it is
The selective noise cancelling headphones I would actually pay for! Hahaha!
Best cable for record cleaner, ever
Is this the cable with the flux capacitor upgrade? I’ve got it on several components and they transformed my system into the stratosphere! Highly recommend!
Power Cables and Wall Sockets
@imaninatural regarding the outlets, look at light switches too. What I’ve done is started to do all the outlets in my house with commercial grade outlets and switches. The circuit that has my system was completed first. Now I’m in the process of ...
Power Cables and Wall Sockets
If your light dim briefly at amp turn on, that's pretty normal. If your lights are dimming when using the amp your circuit is borderline overdrawn. You need to look at how extensive the line is, what other components are on it etc. A dedicated lin...
Move from Parasound A23 to A21/A21+ or Something Else?
If you really want to change things up, see if you can find a Pass XA25. If you don’t require balanced inputs it’s a great little amp. Pure Class A. Of the Parasounds, I agree, the 21 is the way to go. The JC5 is great too, but it’s a bit of a mo...
Whats on your turntable tonight?
Porcupine Tree: Stupid Dream
Hegel finally Roon Ready! Yippeeee :) !!
Looks like the 390 and 590 are right around the corner as well!
New speaker cables
Everything matters. What cables?
Class-A Amplification and 15 Amp Outlet
Rare for TVs? Hair dryers pull serious wattage oddly enough. To the OP, if you are running the 150-200ish amps you will be fine, even up to 300/8ohms. If you jump to the very big boys a dedicated circuit would be the ticket. I think Pass recommend...
Considering buying a used Gryphon Diablo 250
If you you want to go Gryphon, watch for a Diablo 120, stellar integrated. BTW, Gryphons aren’t known to have many issues. Buying used shouldn’t be a problem, just try to know the history.
Considering buying a used Gryphon Diablo 250
One thing about Gryphon amps is they all have their own unique qualities. I think it would be difficult to answer your question unless someone has heard both to make the comparison. If it’s that inexpensive for you, give it a shot. Gryphons don’t ...
How do you hook up a pair of REL T5x subs to a class d amplifier?
Yes, you can run wire from Sub 1 to Sub 2. That assumes your ground situation works. Good luck with that. I’ve never had the “leave the black wire off” solution work on differential (in your case digital) amps. You can try the other methods, they ...
Transparent Cables interconnects question
Let’s be careful mixing XLR and balanced in discussion. Just because a piece of equipment has XLR ins or outs doesn’t necessarily mean they are truly balanced. Balanced is a ground scheme the system uses, an XLR connection can be wired essentially...
