Best reasonable Phono preamp for Marantz TT15SI I have heard from reliable sources that the PS Audio is a great piece for the $ their asking especially the Underwood modded ones. If you don't want to spend that much, a used Lehmann Black cube will do the job.
What's wrong with my ProJect 9.1? Yes, on the Slee. I am not familiar but most phono stages have some kind of load settings. Any possibility ro check the manual? Sometimes they are located inside
What's wrong with my ProJect 9.1? Mike, Are there any loading settings? Pls try other settings if you have it. How old is your cartridge? Do you use anti-skate and how much?
Fidelity Research FR66 Topclass has sold quite a few FR66s already at that price so it is not unusual.
Vintage Turntables compared to modern? Have you listened to the vintage tables that you mentioned? The only way is to decide for yourself. I myself have gone vintage and have no regrets. Proper isolation is the key.
Fidelity Research FR66 Would that be an FR66FX?
Opinions on the Dynavector DV507MKII Stickman451, congrats...you will like the arm. Just came up from a 3 hr long listening session. I love my 507! The 507 is indeed an excellent tonearm. I am not crazy about their headshell though. A tonearm this caliber deserves a much better heads...
DynaVector DV505 is it worth the hassle? Lewm, ONLY the 505 can be fastened to the amrboard without drilling. The 507 is another story. You need to drill to install the 507.Hope this helps clear things out.
DynaVector DV505 is it worth the hassle? Lewm, pls look up the arm on the Dyna website. The Dyna is 2 arms in one. One for horizontal movement and one for vertical movement. Theoretically, that is what is most desired in a tonearm but has it's own working quirks like Albertporter mention...
Upgrade turntable, arm or cartridge? The ET2 is definitely not a good match with especially the Oracle Delphi. Because of the arm being a linear tracker and it's odd mounting position, the weight distribution of the Oracle will be thrown off.If this was my setup, I would change the t...
DynaVector DV505 is it worth the hassle? As with any arm, there are different sets of tradeoffs in all designs. The Dynavector is no different. Is there a perfect arm? I cannot really answer that. Yes, the short armtube is more sensitive to VTA changes on warped records but was there for...
Koetsu cartridges - myth or reality? Lewm, the 507 is a great sounding tonearm. Highly flexible on cartridge matching, adjustability and a breeze to use. It's also a great tracker and will do warps without a hiccup.
Vinyl vs. digital: what am I doing wrong? The recording on the Norah Jones CD is no slouch. A properly "tuned" turntable should have no problem sounding better than the CD version. I have both the LP and the CD.Properly setting up a turntable is not a difficult task. Just read the instruc...
Universal headshell recommendations..... Try the Shun Mook ebony headshells. They are pricey buy definitely worth it. Make sure your arm can handle the extra mass. It weighs 15 grams without the leads.
Record Cleaning Machines: Hannl or Typhoon I got my Typhoon a few months ago and I cannot say enough good things about it. The vac is very powerful. Yes, it is noisy but only takes 2 turns to completely dry a side. You can get lots cleaned on no time. That really helps when you come home w... |
