Help with speakers issues part III That's a pretty large room. I assume they are at one end with the entertainment center. Is there any way to move them further away? You may sacrifice bass, but your imaging should improve.I, too, have limited positioning for my speakers. I put the...

Shout Out to Zu Audio's customer service +3.Very good customer service. And, quality products at a great price point.I use their interconnects and power cords for my equipment. Also, when I needed repair for my Zu Union's, they fixed the binding posts for free, and upgraded the Caps and r...
Help with speakers issues part III Hmm, I don't see why your entertainment center should mess up sound staging, but then I don't know what your set up looks like. For something 'similar' to Maggies, I would say try some Vandersteen VSM or VLR bookshelves. Even the 1ci with a pair of...
Concurrent use of balanced and unbalanced outputs: Lamm L1 I would definitely wait for a response, but my gut feeling is don't try it.Maybe Ralph of Atma-sphere or Almarg will chime in...Bob
Should an AC line conditioner be placed before or after the power cord to the amp? My manufacturer recommends plugging directly into the receptacle.Though power conditioners can help in power fluctuations, they really can't help with surges, which can overwhelm just about any conditioner if strong enough (ie. Lightning).
Speakers for electronic/hiphop/rnb [$4000 range]? As a newbie, I recommend going to as many dealers and listening to as many speakers as possible. Get to know what you like and don't like.Hifi systems are synergistic. All part play a part in recreating music, so not only are speakers important, b...
I've decided to try Tubes Wolfie, as an unabashed Vandy and Atma-Sphere fanboy, I understand your frustration. Hopefully, the saying 'no good deed goes unrewarded', will be applied to you. ( Me too ;)...).B
Need Wireless Subwoofer Options Thanks, though I still want to know how well wireless works with your system. I might consider it for my system, as well.B
Please Help Me Choose a Speaker Cable Sorry to hear about the bananas not fitting. That's why I like spades. Definitely send them back, you don't want them slipping out and possible grounding your amp.-(which is something I did once, luckily the fuses contained the short).Johnny R at ...
Amps Atma-Sphere M-60 Mono blocks OTL design Bigboltz, do the M-60's have enough power for the Quatro's? I ended up going with the MA-1's because I thought it would be a bit too much for them.BTW- My MP-3 took a while to complete, mostly due to the remote option, but as I said to ozzy, your ...

Speaker companies with a focus on parts quality and measurements If you like the Maggie sound, then the Vandersteen line should be to your liking. You can definitely score a pair of used VSM's or Bookshelf speakers for your price range, though I would pair them with a decent (Vandy, HSU, REL, JL) sub for optimu...
I've decided to try Tubes @wolf_garcia Don't be ashamed for being a fanboy. When we hear what we like, it is only natural to share the enthusiasm. And, yes, those glowing tubes do make us more interesting. ;)B
Need Wireless Subwoofer Options You can probably score a pair of Vandersteen 2w's for under $1K, but you do need crossovers. In my opinion, the best way to add subs to any system. Also, HSU subs are a great value for the money, too.The JL should probably be a good upgrade, but se... |
