The most fun you can have in audio is DIYing your own speakers
@erik_squires Have you ever heard these speakers:http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/planet-10-hifi/184088-frugel-horn-mk3-flat-paks.htmlI really like how they look and if they sound good, might try to build them.B
How do you move HEAVY speakers with sharp spikes without lifting?
I bought some Herbie’s Gliders to go under the spikes and protect my wood floors. They aren’t expensive and work well.http://herbiesaudiolab.net/spkrfeet.htmGo to the middle of the page and look for: Cone/Spike Decoupling Glider B
New user intro: some questions...
After further consideration, maybe going monoblock might not be a bad idea, your speakers are rated at 6 ohms and 87db, not the easiest of loads. Once again, I think Schiit could answer your question. As far as getting a new turntable, I suggest ge...

I think calling Schiit would be the best route for all your questions.Bob

Welcome to the farm.I think you are off to a fine start by considering Schiit. They sell excellent equipment, at a great price point. As far as the unbalanced outputs to headphones, I wouldn't sweat it. If you get the 'itch' you can sell the Vidar ...
Bi wire, bi speaker/amp
I forgot to add, that Cleeds offers another route to using vertically stacked amps- an active crossover. But, that would mean you aren't hooking up to a speaker with upper and lower binding posts- In which case the crossover is within the speaker.B
Bi wire, bi speaker/amp
@pack,There are two ways to bi-amp. Horizontal and Vertical. The former is uses two amps with each controlling one channel. The second uses one amp for the higher frequencies and one for the lower.-I believe this is what you are asking about.FWIW, I...
Are subs worth the price for music?
As a prior owner of the 3a sigs and 2wq subs, I can attest to the benefit of adding subs, especially Vandersteen. Remember, using Vandy subs will allow your amp to work more efficiently when coupled with either the fixed or variable crossover. If i...
120v to 240v Adapter to power Amp in USA
Isn't it a step down transformer that you need?In any case, I think inna is correct. B
Classical Music for Aficionados
@schubert ,Great points raised.Though I think just about every composers life is interesting. They are artists after all. (and, as a gardener, I am hypnotized by the diaries of plant explorers in the 17th, 18th centuries-Even Captain Bligh had bre...
Anyone try a SUB THREE from Vandersteen yet?
@hughp3 ,Do you know if the new subs use the same M5-HP?Bob
Anyone try a SUB THREE from Vandersteen yet?
@jbrrp1 ,As I said, I have no issues with my system currently, so moving to up to the Sub 3 isn't high on my list, but I do agree that the equalizer would probably take things to another level.I need to talk with Johnny R. and get some more info. ...
Syncing music across multiple divices
I am not sure, but I think SyncBack can do this.Just Google it.B
Question of power
Wow, that's quite a system, and a very good supply of current. Why not contact AQ directly? Or, at least a dealer like John Rutan at Audioconnection?Bob
Anyone try a SUB THREE from Vandersteen yet?
I, too, own a pair of Treo's (non CT) with a pair of 2wq subs. I love this pairing and am reluctant to change it.Though, I can see the temptation of getting a pair of Sub 3.As I have been waiting for an Ayre KXR to come to the used market, and not...
