Speaker Pricing and Reviews Hi Erik. Frankly I do not believe those articles, especially the hearing aid BS. Besides, this is the reason the stereophile review is simply one of many other professional and non-professional reviews. Are hearing aids involved in every case?
I'm ready to pull the trigger on some new speakers.looking for some last minute advice Hey Dan. My opinion albeit perhaps biased to some degree is to go with the Golden Ears. As for something you may not have considered, the company truly stands behind the product (i.e. if you do need service its top notch). That's on top of the fac...
Cerious Technologies NEW Graphene Cables Someone at their Peoria headquarters ought to at least proof read their (Cerious) web pages as there is a spelling error, in the product name no less! http://www.cerioustechnologies.com/cables/lcSpeaker.html"... inside the Grahene Speaker cables ....
ASSEMBLED IN CHINA ncum001, you would be hard pressed to find a better pair of speakers than GET T1 in today's market / technology for less than 25 grand, regardless of where it is assembled. And the GET T1s are 1/5th the cost.
Buzzing noise. Thanks as always Al! And yes, you're right in that I would have noticed (heard) something undesirable if there were an issue. I haven't, nevertheless I'll follow your recommendation for power on/off.
Buzzing noise. Jea48, Almarg and others... can you please advise about the power up/down sequence in my particular case? Frankly I haven't given much thought to which component to turn on or off first, etc. My integrated (Musical Fidelity M6si) has a power stand...
best integrated amp. May as well consider Musical Fidelity. They may not be "best" but could very well be close enough especially if value (i.e. price/quality/sound) is considered with equal weight. While most integrated manufactures liken their product to a separate ...
What makes an expensive speaker expensive timlub is correct in that it certainly is possible (paraphrasing) to achieve remarkable value at a $5K price point. This is why Golden Ear Technologies is so successful. It is absolutely true that they have somehow bridged the gap between very hig...
For all you McIntosh fans McIntosh may not be the last word in audio, but the Grateful Dead is !!
Musical Fidelity A-5: Can its sound quality compete with today's top rated integrateds? I do not know of the A5 but for what its worth have the relatively new M6Si. I'm very happy with it on all accounts. I don't do analog phone listening but in the case of the M6Si the specs (on paper) are on par with more expensive gear and of cour...
Golden Ear Triton One Speakers $$$ Best of luck with them craftsman2009. As an fyi (although you probably already know), GET has its own forum at the goldenear.com site. Numerous happy audiophiles (customers) over there including myself who can share the good vibes that comes with ...
Golden Ear Triton One Speakers $$$ rkujan, as you and talley have seemingly happened upon a less than desirable in-store setup, I would add - especially if you're serious about a GET product - to ensure that the sub-woofer bass setting (knob on back of speaker) is set to 12 o'clock...
FLAC vs WAV Thank you so much dtc for the confirmation as to the byte size question. You've convinced me and saved me some time in wanting to do the file binary compare. No need if you too have noticed a small difference.
FLAC vs WAV thanks dtc. your response makes sense. perhaps at some point I may attempt to inspect the binary but I'm good for now. curious though as you indicate it can be a result of the way the program writes the data (padding zeros, etc.), do you observe a...
FLAC vs WAV acurus, thank you, however, what I have discovered transcends whether or not you, I or anyone else can "hear" a difference. Question is, "is there a difference". Apparently there is. By the way, I’ve read great things about JRiver from numerous au... |
