Cd Ripping - is it better to use inbuilt CD drive of laptop or use an external Cd drive @mapman and @melbguy1 not that we need/want to belabor the point of "slowness", but in the case of EAC (and likely the case with db Poweramp although I have no experience with it), the software can easily be configured to ignore/bypass "un-correct...
Musical Fidelity M5Si vs Rotel 1592 Integrated I own a Musical Fidelity M6si, so I'm naturally biased to recommend the 5si. I have no experience with the Rotel. The MF sounds grate to me.
Cd Ripping - is it better to use inbuilt CD drive of laptop or use an external Cd drive To mapman's point about dbpoweramp using a database to compare, EAC also has this feature. The caveat in both cases is that the data is known. Meaning if you are ripping CDs of some bootleg recordings not widely available, or if users opt-out of s...
Cd Ripping - is it better to use inbuilt CD drive of laptop or use an external Cd drive I second the recommendation to use Exact Audio Copy. At that point it shouldn't matter - assuming both cd drives are operating correctly - which drive you use. Also, while true that EAC can be optimally configured, realistically the default settin...
Help, My Vandies Sizzle Just to add something not previously mentioned, perhaps swapping the artificial trees at the reflection points with some kind of sound absorption might also help.
New Bel Canto REF600M using NCORE @blang11, every amp regardless of type produces an audible hiss (heard from tweeter) when it is powered on and connected to efficient speakers. For those who believe or state otherwise I'd venture to say they simply cannot hear it. That wouldn't b...

Why pay so much for super high end? This thread has seemingly strayed off topic, nevertheless, I’ll add my opinion. "Music", as performed by a band with live instruments, sounds best and can be more accurately reproduced with 2 channel stereo. "Noise" as in everything other than "mu...
Why pay so much for super high end? @cousinbillyl relax, this site is still a great - I mean GRATE, to which I'm GRATEFUL - - website
Why pay so much for super high end? In my case I can’t afford a quarter million dollar plus system nor do I have the knowledge, patience and desire to do-it-myself. This is why I chose a middle ground which was to seek great value (i.e. not spend a fortune or do it myself). In this ...
Samsung buys Harman for $8B @valinar UN65KS9800Note that I’m not disparaging their products per se, and I haven’t necessarily established that a real - as opposed to perceived - product problem exists. What sucks is their overall ineptitude where customer service is concerne...
Samsung buys Harman for $8B The hope is Samsung will provide customer service for the Home Audio gear. Please allow me to reiterate a previous post of mine within this thread. Samsung "service" SUCKS!!!
Superb Service Golden Ear Technologies also has exceptional customer service. Certain folks have reported they honor their warranty even after it has expired. That is not to say they have many failures to begin with. |
