Searching for the most "accurate" speaker (below 15K) @willemj Appreciate your clarification.
Dedicated Red Book CD player vs. "Universal" type players.... I imagine budget is a consideration. In my case, I have an Emotiva ERC-3 and Oppo UDP-205. Strictly from a red book CD perspective, I'd give the edge to the Emotiva, however, both are very capable.
Searching for the most "accurate" speaker (below 15K) I get the impression that few posters realize that under 20 sq m is actually a very small room, both to physically fit some of the larger speakers, and to make them sing without room modes. 20 sq m = 215 sq feet.True. However, regarding making the...
Soekris DAC1541 discrete R2R 27bit Multibit! Best Redbook DAC? and Native DSD. Good find. It does seem impressive. I spent a good 10 minutes and cannot find the cost. Any idea? I note it has configurable filter settings (4?) which is also pretty kewl in that the user can tweak the final "presentation" :)
Please Recommend Transport + DAC for $5K total Schiit Yggdrasil without question. I too had the same concerns about buying without listening. But after reading web site after web site of pro and consumer reviews, in addition to other do diligence, I took the leap of faith. Boy am I glad I did....
New Yggdrasil - First (and second) Impressions Hi @devgcl Welcome to the forum. To be honest, all sources that act as transport to the Yggy sound great coming out of the Yggy. I haven't A/B'd among them to compare which is "best" coming out of the Yggy. I can tell you I primarily use the Oppo,...
Searching for the most "accurate" speaker (below 15K) Regarding the GoldenEar Reference, it happens that I own the Triton One and I do respect the brand a lot. But the fact is that, as I've improved the electronics their limitations became evident. Also I need a speakers who interacts less with my sm...
Searching for the most "accurate" speaker (below 15K) A lot of great suggestions already herein and I'm sure some others will chime in with even more options to consider. Might as well include Golden Ear Triton Reference as something to think about.
Speaker help - Best all around speaker I think you can get more for your money with a *new* pair of Golden Ear Triton Two Plus.
Do I have to spend $4000 plus to get a better sounding speaker than GET model 7 ? This makes no sense. In one thread audiozen is bashing Tekton. Then he's agonizing over whether to get the Enzo XLs or not. But here he's strongly urging other people to go ahead and make the purchase. This kind of recommendation I can do with...
Oppo Vs Esoteric @boneman73You're welcome!Yeah, I'm unable to speak to what the filter was set to on your particular unit. To be clear, I'm merely stating that according to the manual, mini-phase fast is the default. As to "brick wall" being a diagnostic setting, ...
What makes you build a system around an amplifier? Lots of interesting perspectives here, but would really love to know what it was about a particular amplifier that seduced you.Dealer recommendation. At the time I was in a market for an amp, I didn't have the good fortune of knowing much about th...
Looking for a reasonably priced good quality interconnect Nothing wrong and everything right with https://www.bluejeanscable.com/ for all your cable needs, unless of course one has boutique gear costing snobbish amounts of money.
Toggling Integrated Amp Input During Music Playback Guys, I appreciate your response(s), however, they do not address my question.
Emotiva ERC 3 cd player versus.... ERC-3 is outstanding (in fact, I'll go as far as to say it cannot be beat) at its price point, regardless of whether or not your intention is to use it as a player or transport. |
