Bob Brookmeyer (a valve trombonist) put our some great stuff including an album with Stan Getz. I also highly recommend any of the J.J. Johnson/Kai Winding colaborations.
Looking to upgrade
I agree with Teslaroadsters, changing your speakers will make the biggest difference. Try to match them all, or at least the same series (where usually the only difference is the size of the woofers).
Why is 2 Channel better than multi-channel?
Anyone thinking about getting an SACD player..., do it! An SACD and decent SACD player does sound better than a Red Book CD and decent player. In fact, there's quite a few SACDs that are two and three channel. You get to hear the highly regarded RC...
Beatles Love, should I run?
Buy it.... with the admirable remastering job, the Beatles have never sounded better. It does have a nice flow to it as well.
Music out there with good bass
A lot of the Alligator Records blues artists have very well recorded bass. Also the Stevie Ray Vaughan studio albums.

New music, what, why etc...
I just picked up Jethro Tull's "Aqualung Live". A couple of years ago XM Radio did a series of classic rock albums re-recorded by the bands live. Very good sound quality. These were limited editions, with profits going to the homeless. A lot of 70...

I believe Wagner is coming out of the left speaker for those concerts, and Hunter from the right. Which would have Wagner playing the solo right before Lou starts singing on Sweet Jane.If you don't have the "Lou Reed Live" album, by all means try ...
Who is your overall favorite guitarist?
Yes, he was with The Frost.
