Lightning can be a problem. I always unplug my stereo - including FM lead-in - whenever a storm is overhead. 
What is the best receiver Marantz put out?
My favourites were the Model 18 and 19, both with that famous Marantz 'scope. I always felt (perhaps incorrectly) that after these units, Marantz went downhill for a while. Both of the above are still in my collection.

I, for one, read the wanteds at least once a day. Happy to see them back on Audiogon. 
Held up in customs
For what it's worth, I live in Canada and have bought numerous audio products from the US. There has *never* been any delay - and that includes a CD player. I have also shipped to thhe US from Canada. Again, no problem.There is a bit of extra pape...

In my earlier post, I forgot 2 of my other fav's. Marantz models 18 and 19. Both have those great scopes too.

I am with Vayasteve on this one. Not familiar with the Sansui but any Mac receiver was (and still is) first class. 
McIntosh MC225
I have a 225 and it is all people say it is. Beautiful! I also have 3(!) 240's and can't use them all. But it's hard to give them up. I'd rather be buried with them. Sweet, sweet, sweet! 
McIntosh MR7082 Tuner Question
A comment in case this helps. (By the way, it's my tuner). When the 7082 is powered up, stations can be preset. They will remain set until powered off. According to the manual, the battery can be recharged by leaving the tuner on for 24 hours. In ...
