Revel M20 Woofer
in the not-that-distant-past Dynaudio charged me $300 for a TWELVE-INCH woofer, so for the Revel speakers, that seems to be unreasonably high. i'm no speaker designer but there should be a practical solution to this problem. but at the same time, ...
Any bad experience with wilson audio sasha w/p?
with regards to this Alexia model being released, i have been wondering for the longest time when the W/P was going to offer an 8 and a 10 inch woofer array. AND NOW with the new tweeter the vision is complete. But at $50,000, it is a shame this s...
Any bad experience with wilson audio sasha w/p?
At this level and price you should go somewhere to audition the speakers at length. bring some music with you with brass, sopranos, cymbal crashes, etc. to evaluate the tweeters. perhaps Wilson Audio is considering replacing their metal tweeters ...
Jeff Rowland or Mark Levinson???
sorry if i was looking under PRODUCTS and couldn't find mention of the 725's.i'm not willing to "hunt" for information on current production items.let THEM make the comparison between the 625 and 725 so it's clear whatthey have put into each model...
Jeff Rowland or Mark Levinson???
OH, ONE MORE THING (about the $28,000/PAIR 725 Amps)-i trust the information about the ceramic circuit boards is accurate. i only wishwhen i go to their web site that there was a complete discussion and data about the new amps. instead there's not...
Jeff Rowland or Mark Levinson???
once again, it would be more constructive to show where each company has met with great success and which company failed to either make appealing products or had reliability issues or price issues. IMHO it's a TIE, with the exception that Madrigal...
Jeff Rowland or Mark Levinson???
I've listened to both and owned both. both provided great sound and both had reliability issues from time to time. Rowland gear looks stupendous compared to almost anything except for Burmester, MBL, and such. Very little out there could compete w...
What is the best power cord for pass labs xa100.5?
Call Pass and ask them Specifically about the amplifier's ability to deal with noisecoming through the wall outlet. they have ALREADY supplied you with a cord which will pass ALL of the CURRENT you will ever need. Depending on theiranswer you may ...
I just heard the Wilson Alexandria XLF's Wednesday
Perhaps the issue of making a 3 or 4 piece reference system to separate the extreme-low frequencies into another enclosure and just doing "mid-bass" on-up with the main system will almost HAVE TO BE the only practical solution to this problem (i.e...
I just heard the Wilson Alexandria XLF's Wednesday
i agree about working around the bigger cabinet or the port issue by adding a subwoofer. Except Wilson should be willing to offer the new tweeter to owners of either model of alexandrias. Even if the crossover frequency to the midrange drivers mig...
I just heard the Wilson Alexandria XLF's Wednesday
one thing i thought was a little tricky about the article, and that was the inclusion of TWO THOR subwoofers as a part of the audition. the speakers already have a 13 and a 15 inch driver and a larger cabinet to get clean bass (even cleaner/better...
I just heard the Wilson Alexandria XLF's Wednesday
WELL NOW WE HAVE SEEN THE FUTURE...again.or at least the Absolute Sound has practically become a Wilson Audio Brochure regarding these latest renditions of "as good as we know how to make" XLF speakers.i don't recall having ever seen such a length...
Music that everyone else loves but you just don't
there's music i don't like just because... but i still think it's good.BUT then there's music that i don't (IMHO) think it took a lot of effort to write/compose/perform. and that's NOT good. if very little thought went into it, i don'tcare who lik...
B&W 805D2 or Magico Q1?
Mr. EELLII08- i was merely speculating about a tower-style system (like the MM3's by evolution acoustics for ex.) with B&W drivers, perhaps even 2 x 12" woofersinstead of 10's, perhaps even self-powered, etc. that would be one heck of a cool p...
Laying it on the line
one day i walked (softly) into a ridiculously-priced audio store. the snotty salesman burdened with demonstrating an expensive system for me put on some music and stepped back, lowered the lights, and let me stew in mycasual saturday-morning slopp...
