Why on earth?
I think the idea of this is to give you an idea of how they do sound. What really to me is a waste of time is to have a reviewer talk endlessly about his impressions of what he heard without a demonstration. You should be able to get an idea of ma...
Audio / Stereo Rack
I'm going to go an entirely different way.... Find a woodworking friend, draw a picture of exactly what it is you want and have him build it out of the materials you would like to use.
How serious are you?
I have several systems in my house so you guess. Having said that, there is a price point I will not go over because I think the dealers sit back, look at their equipment, and come up with a number they think they can get those crazy people to pay...
Who has the Sickness, the Phile or the Non-phile?
Lol one thing that really comes through is that I bet that the majority of audiophiles here can't agree on what they consider good music. I'm a female jazz singer listener and other styles of music are nice to listen to once in a bluemoon (no asso...
Who has the Sickness, the Phile or the Non-phile?
I have several systems and one of them is for watching DVDS and listening to music.... but it is not a surround system because I really don't like them and if I hadn't looked at the chart here on this post, I would think surround systems would be ...
is sensorineural hearing loss permanent?
Nerve cells don't regenerate and once they are gone, they are gone. The ringing you may hear is your brain trying to turn up the sound in the effected side. That is why you should always protect your ears when around loud noises. Anything above 95...
Who has the Sickness, the Phile or the Non-phile?
To my surprise... my two best friends and son in law can care less about good quality sound....My two friends run Karaoke on a regular basis and my son in law says he isn't interested in that audiophile stuff. They all really like the sound of my ...
The "Very Best Record Cleaning Formulation"
I had a vinyl record from years ago that I kept for sentimental reasons... it had pops clicks and skips all over but I couldn't bring myself to let it go. A couple of years ago I bought a cheap cleaning mechanism (you know water and dawn dish wate...
What speaker could safely be ordered without hearing it first?
I have always felt comfortable buying B&W speakers without hearing them and have done so several times but I agree with many above who say don't buy speakers without auditioning them first.
From whence does Sound Stage come?
I have several systems in my house... but one does exactly what you are talking about. All but one system is two channel.... audiophiles please don't faint... one system is four channel and that is the one that fills the room with sound and you ca...
Mark Levinson Repairs
Carousel music Dothan Al should be able to do it if anyone.
Buying Used Equipment on the Internet
I've bought a lot of used equipment on ebay and only one bad experience. The seller just put the amp in a box without padding.... you know what happened. When you buy used equipment make sure you have a good tech near you because they will go bad ...
What's the point of reviewing?
@larsman like my hifi system, I have some very good computer speakers... where as I am listening to my speakers reproducing the reviewed speakers I listen to my speakers enough to get an idea of how the reviewed speakers probably sound. Not exact ...
What's the point of reviewing?
A review without a demonstration is just moving air and not worth wasting time listening too.
Integrated for Martin Logan Electrostatics
I was at the florida audio expo three years ago and one room had a mcintosh ma352 driving two Martin Logan speakers.... to me, it was the best sounding system at the show... so there is that.
