How do I discharge the capacitors in my PS audio P20 ?
noromance... this is do as I suggest not as I do. I have a 12 guage wire open at both ends taped to two round dowels and I just touch them to each pole. You do this at your own risk as the capacitor may go away. I haven't had it happen but it can....
How do I discharge the capacitors in my PS audio P20 ?
Erik has the correct answer. Then after the wait place a pair of pliers across the two terminals of the capacitor to make sure it has discharged completely.
Warm, yet detailed tube preamp
I agree with inna the Vac preamp would be worth your consideration.
Would you still pay $10k or more for a turntable not full analog front end these days ?
No, I think I could find a good turntable for $3500 or less that would fit me just fine.
Does it have to sound good for you to like it?
Yup has to sound good or it will grate on me enough to the point where I will get rid of it.
For city apartment dweller audiophiles. Have you ever had neighbors banging on your walls?
I had a condo on the beach and played music often. I asked 3 different couples who rented the condo next door if they could hear my music and they all said no they couldn't. Then one day I was walking out my door and there was a note on my door sa...
Reel to Reel
I have 4 of them who sit there and look pretty. I don't play them often and rarely. I think you may end up doing the same thing.
When Was The Audio Golden Age?
The golden age of music started in 1955 and ended when the calendar turned to January 1st 1980 for the most part with some exceptions. That is different from the question asked about the audiophile golden age. I think technology has continued to i...
Electric bill any high
One big problem is if one coil on a water heater burns out the other starts taking the place for two and will cause your electricity bill to double. It happened to me and one of my daughters found that out. My electricity bill isn't affected by my...
Surge protector
I use Furman on all of my stereo equipment which makes me feel as comfortable as I can. Plugging equipment directly into the wall is a disaster waiting to happen and a very expensive one too I might add.
Looking for the next level in imaging...
Suppose you buy a million dollar system and you don't like the sound.... what do you do then? I've had several systems over the years and it wasn't the most expensive that sounded the best. As for me, Martin Logan speakers sound really good.
Music first or sound first?
It's the music first and we buy systems which hopefully will give us more from the moving piece of music we are hearing. Is there more enjoyment to be had from this wonderful musical piece or not. I have to know.
I need a extension cord with
Furman SS-6B-PRO 6-outlet Pro Surge Suppressor Strip ...look at the reviews. I have 3 of them. You are extended and protected.
first & last system
I have the mcintosh ma252 with B&W speakers and they sound great together. I don't think you can go wrong with that setup. You will need a bluetooth wireless setup to go to the amp though. Another very inexpensive way is to buy a Sony SMP N200...
This One has Me Stumped
You need a tech to put it on a scope to check the bios which could be causing the problem.
