Has anybody heard the new RAYSONIC CD 138?
Klaudio, my opinion is the reason the Raysonic 138 is not getting the fanfare of the 128 is because the 128 was Raysonic's foray into digital and set the pace for things to come.

In 2003 when it occurred to me that I had to replace my Cerwin Vega D-9's because the cones had dry rotted, I decided to go to Best Buy because I read good things about the F-2's on some website. They didn't do much for me and I took them back to ...
Any smooth jazz fans out there?
As a staunch listener of Hard Bop jazz, the genre you refer to as "smooth jazz" in my opinion actually diminishes the genre of "jazz." I really get very little out of this "smooth jazz" and do not consider it to be "jazz." It should be termed "eas...

Under $10k budget Preamp suggestion, please.
I second the Cary SLP 05 which I own. It is fully balanced.

"Great Base" "Adiago" "Adiago's" sheesh....

Tube or solid state? What is the input impedance of the Spectral DMA? Consider the input impedance of the Spectral and the output impedance of the preamp, especially a tubed one. Not much concern with solid state preamps.
Burson Buffers?
It worked on my midfi Onkyo CD changer. The Burson did provide a little more punch and a bit more clarity. For a player with the reputation of the 840C it's questionable if the Burson will be a detriment or a plus. It did not help my better player...
McCormack DNA-250
My advice to you guys is to pass on such an obscure amp with so little information available. Kennesawjet, I thought you were about to audition the 250 back when I was selling the 500.
Just got Audible Illusions L1, but it sound harsh
Face, any component and the associated cables need time to settle in. 1 hour? Not enough imo. Is 1 hour adequate for you to start making assumptions about performance? At minimum I wouldn't conclude anything for at least 24 hrs after putting new (...

The pre-amp has been running for an hour Gte357s (Threads | Answers)1 hour is not enough time to start doing critical listening. Your preamp and cables need more time than that to settle in before you make judgements. Give it at least a couple day...

Just got Audible Illusions L1, but it sound harsh
I just got a Audible Illusions L1 preamp to replace my Rotel RC 1070. Gte357s (Threads | Answers)Have you given time to allow the unit and associated cables, all which had to be moved around, to settle in? It could be that with 24 hour a day play ...
Sharp-Nine Records - My New Favorite Jazz Label
Grimace, checked out the album samples at Amazon. Yes, never heard of him before but I really like Grant Stewart's sound. I will be buying. Thanks

While I have spoken on the phone on some transactions, I find phone conversations a bit sketchy. 99% of my transactions (and I've had a number of them) have been without phone conversations, 1% with phone conversations. Too often, I'm afraid the f...
