Best Tonearm for Dynavector XV1s
Have anybody heard the new XV-1st?Sorry for kind of off topic.
Best Tonearm for Dynavector XV1s
I get a better result with my XV-1s and DV507MKII after changing to a lighter headshell (Yamamoto wood). I've heard the XV-1s doing well in VPI 10.5i and Graham Phantom as well, but in different systems so I will not compare.
Dynavector DV 507 MKII
Audiofeil, thinking about it again and I agree with you, even if your nick means "audiowrong" translated directly from Norwegian (sorry, just had to mention it. Forgive me). We all know that the VTA is of great importance for the VTF, especially w...
Dynavector DV 507 MKII
In my experience the dynamic gauce is presice with some combinations of headshell/cartridge and not so with others. More important: Going back and forth and the dial will show the same value. I just tested setting the VTF static yesterday and in m...
Dynavector DV 507 MKII
Sorry for kind of off topic, but I guess the case is kind of solved? Do you all use the built in tracking force adjuster, or do you use the sub-weight for most of the preasure?
Koetsu vs Dynavector
I tried both the Koetsu Urushi and XV-1s in my system when buying my turntable. In my system the XV-1s was the better choice (more open, faster, not as laidback as the Urushi). I ended up buying aTe Kaitora Rua but switched to XV-1s after a couple...
Dynavector cartridge upgrade decision
I had the Te Kaitora Rua before switching to XV-1s. I don't know why, but I got a more silke like treble from the XV-1s, I had expected the opposite to happen, but it didn't. I bought the Te Kaitora Rua first, because I was told it would sound bol...
New Ortophon Tonearms?
I went to the Munich HighEnd show this year and the Ortofon tonearms were obviously popular in Germany, especially with Raven One. Sounded great in my opinion. My guess is they are great value for money (I have not owned one, not used one over tim...
upgrade from my BENZ ACE low output MC cartridge
I bought a Shelter 90X used once, as a backup for my XV-1s. I don't know if the Shelter was worned out but I never got the best out of it. Even if I didn't got this cartridge right I could tell it had very nice dynamics, excellent tonal balance an...
upgrade from my BENZ ACE low output MC cartridge
Benz Glider is nice. You can have it as low, medium and high output version. I had the low output version once.To me the Benzes sounds smooth, they all have a nice flow and kind of "wet" sound. They never sound dry or steril. I have had the Glider...
upgrade from my BENZ ACE low output MC cartridge
What do you like about your Benz, and what would you like to have improved? Do you like Benz in general? What turntable, arm, phonostage and step-up are you using?
Rega P9 vs Kuzma Reference
Or you could buy the Kuzma Reference and save for a Stogi Reference in a hurry. I agree with Rauliruegas about the importance of the arm, but IMHO the Kuzmas are excellente.
Matching Cartridge to Hovland Phono
I have tested quite a few cartridges on the DV507MKII through the last two years (Koetsu Urushi, DV Te Kaitora Rua, Shelter 90X, Denon DL103, DV XV-1s). Matching step-ups is of great importance with cartridges (far more important than with active ...
Swapping Cartridges on the DV 507MKII
You will probably have to re-arrange the weights on both the short "stub" (I don't know if that is a correct word in English) and the big weight at the and of the arm. You might have to swap weights as well, they do sound different. The 507MKII is ...
Matching Cartridge to Hovland Phono
0,3 mV output should do, but you could very well go with a bit higher output (I have talk to Alex about this befor ordering my phonostage).I am using the Hovland MM myself with an outboard step-up (26dB) for my XV-1s (0,3mV). In my opinion your co...
