Turntable lamp suggestions?
I'm using a AA-battery powered LED gooseneck lamp that I bought at Harbor Freight Tools for about $25. It was marketed as a small workbench lamp for close work, but you can find the same thing at Lowes marketed as a BBQ grill lamp. What's nice bes...
Best and Worst Rock Concert Moments
I'm not sure if it was the best or the worst, but I was one of the 32000 people who bought a $12, three-day-event ticket to Stompin' 76 in the rural hills of southern Virginia. The only problem was that 150k to 200k people actually attended! The y...
Motorola transistors
. . . but you probabaly won't hear any big difference by changing output devices from one revision to another. The main thing is to make sure that the bias is correctly.

Dissapointed buyer, item malfunctions experience?
I had the same situation happen to me but I was the buyer. If I had to do it all over again, I would have promptly shipped the unit back to the seller for a refund and allow the seller to arrange for the repairs to be made, as per Audiogon buyer/s...

May Day May Day
I don't remember the the brand, the folks bought me and my little sister a record player and we played the crap out of a bunch of early '60s kid's records. I also remember, opening the thing up while it was plugged-in and getting my fingers burned...
good old tuners going obsolete
Digital-only OTA braodcasts would be tough one for the radio stations to swallow since just about 95% of their listeners listen while driving. Dead silence wouldn't cut it for most drivers, and buying and retro-fitting digital receivers to million...
How do you pay? Why?
Also, I much as I dislike PayPal fees, I still prefer PalPal for the reasons stated above by Swampwalker. When I sell something, I don't put the " . . . add 3% for PayPal" in my ads. In fact, I'll even go as far as to state, "No fee for PayPal". T...
How do you pay? Why?
Yes most all banks post funds from cashier checks and money orders the day you make the deposit, especially if your account maintains an average balance greater than the amount of the check or money order. The reason many people wait for a period ...
Is HDCD dead?
Maybe it's because Microsoft bought Pacific Microsonics and now owns HDCD.
Cartridge alignment help
Since you are using an ET-2 tonearm, you will need to get your hands an ET stylus reference gauge, which is just a simple piece of clear plastic the fits over the turntable spindle. The ET stylus reference gauge has a straight line ground in it th...
