Beware of new material claims - the case of graphene
@soundermn correct -- one has to assume that everything that is claimed in audio is bunk, let our ears judge and leave the marketing sales pitch in the dustbin where it belongsThe point of posting a link from a well regarded authority in the field...
DCS Vivaldi stacks vs Esoteric Grandioso G1, D1, P1 stacks
Sorry @caphill that was a rushed response. Hopefully you have a chance to check out my system. My experience with adding the Mutec is described here -- the optimization via footers and ancillary cables is key -- with these included it's a $10K add...

DCS Vivaldi stacks vs Esoteric Grandioso G1, D1, P1 stacks
Before trading out of your DCS stack you owe it to yourself to try adding a master reference clock, I use the Mutec but the best results may come from the Abendrot Stute http://www.kjwestone.co.uk/collection/stute/overviewi was in KJ last week and...
Beware of new material claims - the case of graphene
@deeperthought not sure you read the article in the original link which is from a well regarded chemistry blog. The point being that almost 100% of what is sold as single layer graphene is anything but that and unless you have the resources to ass...
Classical Mono Records
@lloydk it behooves you to spend a few minutes on Discogs to check you’re not holding something valuable, as some mono LPs of this period will fetch hundreds or thousands of dollars, which could always go to a charity of your choosingfor exampleht...
Where do you look for rare records and pressings ?
Personally I find what I need on Discogs. But you may be looking for a trusted dealer with a carefully curated stock, perhaps somewhere like Brooks Berdan which keeps a selection of audiophile approved records - you will pay top $ however
Nordost Serial Numbers
Could be @ron17.  It was a few years ago that I had them provide this service for me.
Nordost Serial Numbers
As a matter of custom Nordost have always been happy to validate a serial number of you provide it to them. As to where the numbers are on V1 Valhalla they were printed on a wrap around the cable end in some instances
Cover songs that are better than the originals.
"Better than the original" is a high bar but this version of "Once in a Lifetime" at least rivals the original -- Naylor has a way with unique versions of songs, she often mashes up ones song's lyrics with the melody from another -- like this
Cartridge alignment tool
@bluewolf and @lastlemming, wholly agree on the AS SmartTractor, but having got this far you really also should invest in Richard Mak’s AnalogMagik disc and program. It makes dialing in VTA, azimuth, amtiskate and even loading a breeze and takes t...
What's Your Approach to Dressing Rack Cables?
like starting with all AC going to one side and then...,by the way -- one thing never to do (but is common in AV installations) is to bundle cables together (e.g, all interconnects down one side for example). Bundling interconnects magnifies the ...
What's Your Approach to Dressing Rack Cables?
Some simple rules1) Place the components with cable dressing in mind -- in particular pay attention to location of power cord inputs relative to your wall plugs or conditioner so you won’t need awkward turns2) Install power cables first. Mine are ...
Step Down Transformers?!
No personal experience with the Richard Gray but I get good results from a Torus WM-75 used in such a capacity (ie 220v balanced in to 110v lines out)
Will the Thiel CS2.4 fit in my car?
Probably. Interior width of your BMW is 54” and the Thiels are a tad over 41” tall. You will have to take them out of whatever packaging the seller shipped them to you in however as I’m pretty certain they won’t fit still in a box.  Good luck find...
