Any word on the Blue Angel "Mantis"?
I have a week so far with the "Mantis" and still keeps me awake and re-listening my LP collection. I read a review somewhere stating that this is an "honest sounding" cartridge - and I fully agree. It has all the tonal palettes correct, great dynam...
New favorite VINYL Album?
Kipdent - I have just a few digitaly remastered LPs that sound decent, most of them - particulary Pop or Alternative - sound almost like my digital source (just with clicks and pops).
Any word on the Blue Angel "Mantis"?
I am deciding to keep it, it is by far the best cartiridge I have heard so far - it is very picky with VTA adjustments and overhang - once properly set up it sounds fantastic, very musical, honest and full of energy.Regards,
Any word on the Blue Angel "Mantis"?
Thanks for your feedback - I am havinf the opportunity to try & buy thanks to a generous offer from the seller. I compared the "Mantis" with my current Dynavector XX2 and heard some others at friends installations. We have all agreed that this ...

What do you see as the downside of tubes?
I respect what Dave-B shared with us, and I know many friends who also prefer the sound of SS over Tube designs and that is fine... even mixing tube and solid states in the audio chain brings very good results to some systems.A world full of colou...
Jadis DA 60 Integrated
Trelja - After 30 years in this hobby, one clear lesson I have received is that system matching is far more critical than independently picking the "best" component at each link of the chain - there is surely a better balance with your sources and...
Jadis DA 60 Integrated
Phaelon - I have had the opportunity to hear them all - either in my own systems, or at friend's installations, and some at the local dealer show rooms. Both the DA60 and the DA88s produce a very dynamic presentation and handle almost all kind of ...
Jadis DA 60 Integrated
Phaelon - The design pholosphy behind both of them is quite different, The DA60 is a Class A/AB design where power is key in the decision process, the DA88S (or my own DA50S) are pure class A designs (more recent models in the Jadis line) where th...
Unipivot and suspended TT?
I am currently using a Scheu Taco arm (unipivot), mounted on my Avid Volvere deck with no issues, for the contrary - I witnesed every single word from a review I read some weeks back where a Naim ARO arm was compared vis-a-vis with an SME, the rev...
Jadis DA 60 Integrated
I own a DA50Signature rated at "only" 30 watts, it is a pure class A design using four KT88 output tubes - it handles my power hungry Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage at easy, just as my previous Gryphon pre/power combo with the virtues of tubes. The DA...
What do you see as the downside of tubes?
Polk - Good idea - but sometimes that saving flow shoud be a bit larger than a few bucks, I bought NOS Genelec KT88 at a thousand dollars the pack of 4 !!!!Again... To me it worths every penny (and pain) the tube route.Fernando
Wadia 170i transport experience?
Dave - I originally had all my music library in Apple Lossless format - and it was very listenable and close to my reference - the Reimyo CDP777 at that time. I am sure that many will be more than well served with this format in their iPODS listen...
What do you see as the downside of tubes?
I have been in and out from pretty serious SS gear to tubed designs and viceversa for the last 30 years, I learned to live with the mentioned tube disadvantages on behalf of the musicality and engagement they produce. It happens to be that I got ri...
