Krell KID vs. Wadia i170.
I have not made the comaprison, but I just sold my Reimyo CDP777 for the Wadia 179 and an external Reinyo DAC. Really hard to tell the difference from both with the convenience of having all my music avaliable thru the iPOD.My two cents here
Jota Monoblocs drive Kharma 3.2fe?
Noy my experience but a good friend drove her Avalon Eclipse speakers with a pair of Jota's and she believes it was one of the best combinations she had with such speakers.I have had naby Avalons (at least three) and always drove them with beefy a...
Integrateds: Warm sounding SS vs Hybrid
I had a pair of Totem Mani-2s and Tabu as well - both delivered good bass response but at the expense of sounding a little meshy - I drove both of them with a Gryphon Tabu and later with a Rowland 2.Good luck
Integrateds: Warm sounding SS vs Hybrid
There are two integrateds that come to my mind where I just forgot thinking about their design fundamentals (SS or Tube) - those are Gryphon an Acoustic Plan.I was more listening to music than the amp itself.
Best Integrated, period.
I have had some integrateds - The three best that como to my mind is the Gryphon Century (the Diablo should be far better, The new Burmester Integrated, and my current Acoustic Plan SITAR.Depending on your tastes, a SET integrated is a nice option...
accuphase class A vs. Sugden class A
Please consider Acoustic Plan - it has the same basic design of a Pathos but ay a higher level - I own one and think will not move from there for a long time.
15 watts & 94 db eff. speakers: how loud?
Very!I owned an Audio Nte Meishu (9watts) with Avantgarde UNOs (91dB) and drove them to pretty loud volume where needed (Rock, Pop etc)regards,
Integrateds: Warm sounding SS vs Hybrid
Hi - I have had some Integrateds (tubed, hybrid and SS) - if you are looking for a warm sound amp you should check the Primaluna (budget), or the Sugden class A line. For hybrids Pathos and Acoustic Plan (which I own now) are really fantastic optio...
Tube Integrated with deep bass
Deep bass is most a matter of system integration rather than a sonic signature of a specific integrated amp. I own an Audio Note Meishu integrated which integrates in a very favorable way with Avantgarde speakers developing clean and articulate ba...
Speaker advice?
I would consider the Nautilius line from B&W or the Harbeth line - different presentation but both quite competitive and universal regarding type of music to reproduce and easy of placement.
Koetsu cartridges - myth or reality?
Raul - Some say that the 507 is a quite heavy arm for a suspension table - and is more suited for heavy-non-suspended turntables as yours - do you agree?
Koetsu cartridges - myth or reality?
Thanks Raul - you are not the first one who say that the Dyna in the SME will really shine - I will definitely take my time there - the arm will be here next Wednesday.I remeber you recommending me the Sumiko Celebration for the SME - do you still...
Koetsu cartridges - myth or reality?
Thanks all for your feedback - I forgot mentioning that I already bought an SME IV tonearm - (currently on its way thru FedEX - and that is the reason of looking for a change of cartridge.I agree with the description of the Dynavector sound - noth...
Koetsu cartridges - myth or reality?
Wow - terrific feedback - thanks so far!1.- I like coloured presentation IF it is musical (which based on your kind response seems like the Koetsu line does).2.- If you had the chance to take a look at my system - I own Avantgarde speakers - which...
SME 309 vs SME IV - sonic differences?
Based on my research - I am leaning towards an SME 309 for replacing my RB300 on my Volvere - yes, the iV looks great - but out of my reach if I look for a mint piece.Morch looks good - but I have found few owners with this combo - looks like the ...
