Need advice...driving some vintage JBL's Some considerations:1.- Take a look at speaker placement. You may need to pull those JBL out of the wall and place them on stands to make them sound great (I love L100 Centurys). a lot of content in this room wil help you out.2.- Why 4 spkrs?3.- I...
Cool Amps Needed for Eggleston Savoy's EricP - I had Eaglestone Rosas some years back, they were driven at its best thru a Gryphon Anthileon (Class A = hot), I ied it with A - A/B amps like Rowland 2 and 8 before and sound was not just as good as the Gryphon. Be aware...Fernando
Help. A box beats my Maggie I passed thru a quite similar expereince while my time with a pair og 1.6QR, at first glance their sound was more transparent and quick, I just brought them in. The 1.6 is NOT a bad speaker, and could be the ticket for many guys here, but if you p...
No. 26 - MM or MC board? Raul - I would love to go for something better and more expensive, but to my ears this preamp (ML 26) sounds very nice with my current setup, at my room and with my music. This is a never-ending story of buy-sell-buy iterations. To move to this pre...
Best amp/preamp combo for Wilson Watt puppy 5.1 Naim pre/power amp, bi or tri amplifing config. Very Musical.Fernando
Linn vs Naim House Sounds I had both Linn (Ittok, LK1) and many Naim gear (1st and 2nd generation), I think Naim has a more energetic sound than the Linn, which is also very good but more polite IMO.Fernando

No. 26 - MM or MC board? Thanks Twl, very important advise from you that I will surely consider, specially the added load settings using the step-up.I will let you know how it sounds with and without the step-up, taking into consideration that the current 100ohm setting i...
No. 26 - MM or MC board? Thanks to Michael and Twl. I will check the links provided.I also have an unused passive stepup transformer (cotter I believe) which may plug in to see if I get a better reproduction in terms of dynamics.Twl: If it is a MC board what I have in the...
Good match with Sonus Faber Grand Pianos I would backup your idea of bi-amping the SFs, you have a Linn based system, once you invite a new member to your rack you may need to change the rest of the components, avoid getting there IMO.Fernando
What to use? I would consider the Rotel line as well, or a Sophia Electric Baby if you have a small room and listen to acoustic music mostly.Fernando

Pass XA100 or X350.5 line_romer: what spkrs are you using?. are the 100 watts enough?.I do like a pure class A better than an A/AB design, but I need more than 150 Watts for my spkrs.Fernando |
