Wow an old album that rocked your world
Don Henley.      Building the Perfect BeastWhat a great collection of songs.  “A Month of Sunday’s“ is on the cd but not the vinyl.  Grammy winner too.

Five great reasons to be moving back to Texas. Good luck with the move.

I think everyone is stunned that you are moving from West Virginia to Texas.
WHat did Audiophiles hear during Tape deck era?
My first system, late 70s, included a couple of pioneer pieces, an am/fm tuner and a dubbing cassette deck.  I can’t remember the models. Some radio stations and DJs helped people record music by announcing what would be played and when. Albums wo...

Tempted to buy a Macintosh
The MA 6900 is 200 watts per using their auto former design.  It does not double down into 4 or 2 ohms.  So it is on the low power side of their SS amps.  I run preamp out to a subs crossover and back into the amp section. To me an improvement.  I...

Can't give up the old (McIntosh)
Maybe it is time for a capacitor tune up for the McIntosh.  I just refurbished my MA 6100 and it sounds great again.  New speakers are never a bad idea though.
New Zirconia Pipe Cantilever .. What's up with that ?
I did not mean to suggest that Peter is the “last word” if such a thing exists.  He is however an authority and I mentioned him only because I happen to have one of his cartridges with a ruby cantilever.  I did not buy it for the cantilever.  Nor ...
New Zirconia Pipe Cantilever .. What's up with that ?
The good doctor wants the cantilever to be a short stiff post.  The gemstone cantilever is good for this.  It allows for thinner wires, different suspension, different armature, a larger stylus etc.  This is all great.  I merely believe that ruby ...
New Zirconia Pipe Cantilever .. What's up with that ?
I believe cantilever material has probably the least impact on cartridge performance.  Stylus geometry and cartridge type I.e. MM, MI or MC, output and compliance are much more important. If all else is equal, I seriously doubt anyone could distin...
