In Awe of "Yessongs" Forty Years Later I enjoy Fragile, but my "Yes Album" LP is my favorite. I have not heard YESSONGS since my Cassette deck days. I will have to give it a listen. Thanks for the reminder!
Attention Verity owners I would try some Auditorium 23. A bit of a dark horse, but Crimson cable is very well thought of. I have only tried their interconnects, and they were impressive for the money. I have a dealer who had success w/ Stereovox as well. I think the A23 ...
Best integrated amp for Harbeth SHL5s Congrats on your new LUX 505ux Bob. They make very nice gear. I met Philip O'Hanlon in Montreal recently, and he's a great guy. I would imagine you are also in good hands with a class distributor. Of course your unit is built like a tank, but extr...
Tube Amp Recommendations $1500 Indeed it is the 216 I was thinking of. I believe it's around 40WPC. I am not familiar with the power output of the Prima Luna, so the OP will have to decide on how much power he needs for his speaker. I have no experience w/ the Paradigm. Cheers ...
Tube Amp Recommendations $1500 LM Audio 211 or 219. The former uses EL34, the latter KT88!
CSNY Live 1974 Maxnewid- +1, and very well said. Was listening to Houses of the Holy late in to last night. I seemed to appreciate side 1 alot more than 2 for some reason. Perhaps my mood or just the fact I'm not getting younger. I saw CSN about 4-5 years ago, a...
London Decca Very nice Doak. I have an Amadeus GTA, and a Std Amadeus in my secondary rig. I am always looking for suggestions to try. It seems like 95% use either Emt Tsd-15 or Dynavector 20X, Karat, or XX2. I guess heavier cartridges work pretty well w/ the ...
Verity speakers for $7k or less? " I don't want to go shy on detail either because from what I've heard the Verity does a good job with detail revealing it in a musical, non-fatiguing way." Indeed they do. I preferred them with tubes, but in no way did they sound bad with solid s...
audiophile help needed in CT Are you anywhere near Goodwins in Waltham MA. They have an excellent TT guy there, last time I knew....
Wet Cleaning the Stylus Dhcod- I also use an EMT, great cartridges BTW. I discontinued use of the Onzow, based on recommendation! So now 90% of the time I use a dry brush. The other 10% of the time is either ME or wet brush. The latter with just one drop of Disc Doctor. W...
Turntable on suspended floor - shelf or braces? You could try either. My previous table (also suspended btw) had a severe FF issue. I used floor jacks, and it solved the issue 100%. In the adjacent room, I set up a second system, and used a wall shelf on an interior wall. It worked good, but th...
Speakers for SET 8 Watt 300B system? The Audio Note suggestion is a good one, I just heard the J'sdriven by the Oto integrated. There is also the DeVore Orangutan series. I don't know the footprint of the 12.1, so I can't comment on the smaller footprint.
Wet Cleaning the Stylus "However, some other ME users recommend using the ME as a stationary pad set down under the stylus; they then lower the stylus gently on to the pad using the cue-ing device, up and down a few times. This sounds much safer for inattentive persons l...
Quiet"er" record cleaner? I mean when it comes right down to it, just dry off with a soft, lint free diaper type cloth. Spin Clean sells then separately. I have used these after a wet clean on my 16.5. Records get dry, and the dead still sleeps.
gloves to touch vinyl surface Czarivey- Thank you very much, and long live vinyl. |
