mono cartridge vs stereo
I was also playing the new Mono Rubber Soul last night. It sounded quite fine with my LOMC stereo cart. Obviously soundstage was not wide, but what was there was real good. Nicely detailed, and layered sound. Color me impressed.
Himalayan SALT Lamp
Took the big plunge at Bed and Bath last night. It's kinda Pink/orange, and has a dimmer so you can adjust brightness. The Beatle's Ruber Soul never sounded better. Forget my careful speaker placment, and the great new mono reissue. I think it was...
Your last concert was to see who and when?
Akg_ca- How was MAC? I saw them last year, and they were excellent. This was before Christine rejoined.
WT Simplex Belt
Count me in as one of the fortunate ones. I have two Amadeus tables, a standard and a GTA. I've only changed the belt once or twice in 3+ years on the standard. Never on the GTA, but it is still less than a year old.
A fond farewell to The Allman Brothers Band
I guess all good things must come to an end. I hate to be a downer, but some of the truly elite bands are starting to get up there in age. Thankfully, we will always have their recordings to cherish. I was lucky enough to see the Allmans at least ...
Himalayan SALT Lamp
I just want a cool looking orange light, that will do no harm to my gear. I have no interest in learning anything else about a SALT LAMP. I apologize if I hadn't made that clear. Cheers -Don

Great setup guy in Mass, if you're close. He worked for Goodwins last time I checked.
Add a step-up or Upgrade
That SUT is supposed to be excellent. Certainly the Bob's is a low risk option to try. He may even offer a trial w/ money back guarantee.
Himalayan SALT Lamp
Appreciate many of the responses so far. I was in an Audio Shop last week, and they had a couple nic-nacks that gave off a soft orange light. One was a globe, the other this plane piece. So I thought of the Salt Lamp because I had seen a nice oran...
Similar sounding bands.
Milk Carton Kids sound a bit like Simon and Garfunkel to me.
Jelco Tonearn SA750D
Does anyone know how the SA-750 might compare to the Ortofon 212 series?
Luxman PD-171 turntable
Heard back from On a Higher Note. The Jelco that's been standard on the PD171 from the get go is the SA-250. They now have arm board options with the newer version that will allow more choices. This includes the Jelco SA-750. I also asked if the S...
Luxman PD-171 turntable
Dave_72, Did you catch what arm was on the table philip brought over? By the photos, it appeared to be a Jelco. Like I mentioned, the Jelco SA750 is now available. I'm actually not sure if the standard arm they have had all along is a Jelco 250 or...
Luxman PD-171 turntable
As I understand it, the PD-171 can be ordered with a Graham, and also a Triplanar that is specific to the PD-171. I believe it is a less expensive version. The third option is a Jelco SA-750. I was under the impression the stock arm was always a v...
Dust cover for WT Amadeus or any turntable
Thanks- Now that makes sense. I may go with a larger dimension, where it would be larger than the plinth, and sit on the rack. This would require it to be close to 8" high. Hmm, maybe I will give this a few days of thought before going forward.
