EMT JSD P 6.0
bgupton- Thanks for the update. I've had a few Koetsu's, and always enjoyed them. I now use a TSD-15, as I mentioned above. I'm running it in to a T2 SUT. I like Koetsu's very much, but didn't feel I had an ideally matched arm. The best results I ...
In Memory of Glenn Frey...Favorite Eagles song?
Darn- Always enjoy Pretty Maids all in a row, I Can't Tell You Why....In the City is a great tune, even though Joe's voice isn't the best Eagles vocal IMHO. How many did you ask for MoFi (-:  RIP Glenn, and thanks for the music.

Terrible news. Crazy how we lost so many in their prime like Morrison, Hendrix, SRV, and Duane Allman, to name a few. Then for those who managed to stay alive, they live long, prosperous lives as musicians. I think their staying power amazing. I f...
Altec 605's or ?
Good luck with Great Plains Audio. I called them regarding my Valencia 846A’s. I left a VM, and didn’t receive a call back. Perhaps I will give it one more shot. Not directly related but I have a friend who uses Altec 756 drivers, and likes them v...

I compared my Pet Sounds Stereo reissue from 99 against the New Kevin Grey QRP Stereo. The former is not the Cap Vaults, but the reissue prior to that. Again, 1999 I believe. In listening to my 99 LP, it was hard to fault overall. It did nothing w...

I sure will. I'm looking forward to these. I've scoured quite a few Beach Boys sections in many different stores, and came up empty. Thankfully Chad and company did these. I was listening to Brian's solo album, I just wasn't made for these times. ...

oregonpapa- Do the earlier WT tables use a more conventional belt, because this is what the OL belt appears to be. I've heard great things about the OL belt, but the Amadeus tables use a very thin belt, almost like a fishing line. Cheers -Don

Thanks not only for the suggestions on the Beach Boys LP's, but also for the other interesting stuff. I ended up ordering the Mono and Stereo Pet Sounds, and Pre-ordered Surfs Up for March. The Stereo version of PS isn't available for a few days, ...

Great stuff here. I have nothing! Ok, I'll cheat (-: I ran in to Robby Krieger at a Vegas Casino maybe about 20 years ago. He was right there talking to a lady, so I don't think I even had to approach him. I just subtly said " Hi Robby, I really e...

The Holland album is very interesting. I have been listening at work, sort of as background music. The first track on the album is a GREAT song. Sail On, Sailor I believe…. My shopping list so far: Surfs Up, Pet SoundsStereo version, and Smile 2-L...

Awesome- and thanks for the tip on Outlaw Blues. I thought Love and Mercy was a very good movie. In an interview with Brian and his wife, he also gave his blessing to the movie. They found it a hard watch, which I guess is an indication it was pre...

Some really cool posts, thanks for sharing. I'm 50 in a couple of months, so I grew up with Pink Floyd, Zeppellin, YES, and others which I've moved on from. bdp24- So between Smiley Smile and the Smile Sessions, you would opt for the latter.

I've been sampling both Shut Down II and Surfer Girl on You Tube.  I'm leaning Surfer Girl because the filler songs are a little more interesting and the QRP SG is supposed to sound great. Then I will focus on Pet Sounds and after. As good as the ...

Three for Holland. (-: mr_hosehead- I hear what you're saying. Of course MF gave the mono Pet Sounds an 11/11. Bo Derek was only a 10. The Stereo version of Surfer Girl is supposed to great as well. Still on the fence on that one, as it's not my f...

Two for Holland. I will have to check it out. Funny, someonejust mentioned Holland to me last week. It was someone in theindustry, so maybe it's better not to say who. Cheers, Don
