Build a wooden crate or use a cardboard box for Amplifier.
For shipping my typical rule is crate over about 100lbs. Other than that double cardboard is fine if you don't use a gorilla carrier. Some hi-fi manufactures have gone to triple cardboard. Those Krell's are heavy, but if your using a moving compan...
AAA vs DDD...
DDD is the best CD recordings typically, ADD next. But I take what I can get!
What's In Your CD Player Tonight?
James - All the Colours of You. Tim Booth hasn't disappointed me yet!
Audio Alchemy power station 3 specs
Just fyi - Using a higher current supply for the +/- 8 vdc supply is much better, 750-1000 mA.
JSP Brand Speakers (Japan Brand)
I had not heard of them before, but went to Google and couldn't find any info or pix. I typically won't visit sites the are not secure. Good luck.
Replacement capacitors exploding
Cakyol - Thank you, knowledge is powerful.
Thoughts on Active/Passive Speakers? Looking for pros and cons.
Most, if not all, speakers are designed using active crossovers nowadays. Passive crossover speakers can sound very good, parts cost $$. But if they were left as actives they would sound even better in my opinion. My 2¢
Poor quality control crooked driver
+1 erik - If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Thoughts on Active/Passive Speakers? Looking for pros and cons.
mijostyn - This is fiesta75 or maybe there is a fiesta25 too. I've been active crossover bi-amping for a couple years longer, but that's not the point. Seriously, you should know by now that an active system is superior in ALL resects, that kinda ...
Do I NEVER shut it off…?
g_nakamoto - Standby is actually like off. If you want the best sound a 1 hour warmup should be fine.
Thoughts on Active/Passive Speakers? Looking for pros and cons.
Nope, not at all. You bypass the passive crossovers entirely. Eliminating resistances of the inductors and phase shift and delay of the caps. Solid wire between voice coils and amplifier outputs. You can still use you DSP for corrections if you li...
Melos repair
Could you describe the noise and when it occurs? Is it only when you move the cord or jack, or is it noisy all the time?
testing a crossover
CORRECTION, sorry. The last test on the mid/hi amp terminals on the crossover board; when I asked to to test and then reverse the meter leads and test again. The multimeter should be set on the "diode" test mode, not ohms. The readout should displ...
testing a crossover
Which resistor, if it's STILL showing a dead short or 0.00 ohms? This is the one mentioned in post 6-16 @ 12:59am
testing a crossover
Okay, its been a rough couple days. I just got done drawing the schematic and looking at the words and measurements again. Just one note, do all measurement in the resistance mode, not in the diode mode as the diode mode really doesn't tell us any...
