Mixing Transparent Cables You have great cables now, why upgrade? May notice improvement, but likely not any. I'd save up for a much more significant improvement, but that's just me.
Is DSP room correction worth it with a high end analog system? Yes if you can afford Trinnov, it's about the best.
Amplifier stability with very low impedance, high efficiency mid/tweeter section??? Have you thought about a new class D amplifier? Very good on low impedances. Almost any amplifiers with MOSFET outputs should work fine.
Please recommend speakers Definitely no on Tekton and I’m not a fan of Polk either. +1 for Klipsch and Monitor Silver. Have you thought about a used pair of JBL’s? PS. KLH makes some very good speakers too.
Gold Note AP-7 stopped working- any advice? Have you taken the cover off to see if there are fuses inside? I did not look at the schematic, but doubt this is a serious / expensive fix. Best wishes.
bose 901 active equalizer Yeah not a nice person. I tried to ignore all of his ramblings and just answer your question honesty, using my thoughts. Best wishes.
KrappyKables? Thanks imhififan. Happy New Year!
Peeking inside a Carver Crimson 275 Tube Amplifier The 275 is a disappointment. Why would you modify it and not just sell it?
Words and Sound I agree with the first post. To me analytical is accurate, but what do I know?🙃
Unidentifiable popping sound Glad to see you're in a joyous mood oldhvy. 😀 Happy New Year!
Not sure Rumor or Truth that Max Townshend has passed? Sorry to hear that, RIP. My best to his family and close friends.
Seeking Repair for Bose 1801 (Tallahassee to Atlanta) Good amp, but I don't have a repair shop suggestion for your area. Doesn't sound too serious, maybe a bad input cable? Remove both inputs to the amp and see if still hums, It's definitely not an output device, more likely input cable or capacitor....
Unidentifiable popping sound Start with all components off. Power them up one at a time starting with the power amp, then preamp. Once a component is powered, leave it on and work your way upstream until the popping starts.
bose 901 active equalizer Does the EQ work? When you depress the defeat, can you hear a difference. If it’s still working, I wouldn't worry about it as they may have still been using lightbulbs in that unit.
Gold Note AP-7 stopped working- any advice? Manual says fuse is 1 amp. Located in power plug under cover on back of unit. |
