LCR meter
Yes I have tested and replaced many capacitors in older equipment. The suspect ones are near sources of high heat generation. The caps replaced range from 20 to 80% low on my cheap tester. I would highly suggest you buy one, mine was less than $30...
Heat in class A equipment
It's thermal cycling that kill electronics faster than staying at a constant temperature. Think you did a post awhile back about capacitor life?
Heat in class A equipment
44 years for Phase Linear.
Metrum DAC Burn-in?
Yes, 200 hours or more,

Active vs passive crossover
All fuses degrade sound. You never want a fuse in series between the amplifier and speakers, ever.
JBL Everest 6600 + Mark Levinson 585 amp.
Those JBL's will work and they can handle a lot of power. I would bi-amp for sure!

All caps need to be 105C rated or higher.
Doesnt resistance mean same as impedance??

Could You Tell a Tube Integrated from a Solid State Receiver If All Else Were Equal?
Yes I can tell the difference, but I did not look at the video.😄🙃
Active vs passive crossover
+1 russ - With passive crossovers, it's much easier to protect the drivers too. I don't use any components between the drivers and the amplifier outputs, just wire. Somewhat risky for the drivers, but worth the risk for the sound improvement to me.
Class A: Accuphase vs Pass Labs house sound?
I do like the sound of Accuphase amplifiers, very clean sounding. Between the two I would choose Pass, but I'm a transistor guy.
DAC Question: Delta-Sigma vs R2R
R2R dacs can use either discrete resistors or resistors located in a chip. I prefer discrete resistors.
Looking for speaker wire (bi-wired) suggestions for two types of speakers
You would notice the biggest difference if you went to horizontal bi-amping instead of bi-wiring. Good wires are similar unless we are talking solid silver wires.
Thorens TD-160MKII Channel Imbalance
To me it sounds like you've narrowed it down to the cartridge itself. Am I missing something?
