Anyone heard of DK design group?
Hometheaterdoc,I appreciate the candor you offered on the DK Design amp. It was simply shameful the way some members gang-tackled Mr. Khesin. There are a few prima donnas here who just love to hear themselves talk. Mr. Khesin found out very quickl...
Preamp Deal of the Century
Ecclectique, I am not familiar with the Cardas caps, but the Chris VH - V Caps that I mentioned have gotten rave reviews. Those are the Teflons I was referring to in my post.At Mick's direction, I did replace two caps in my Chardonnay with Auricap...
Preamp Deal of the Century
Just curious if anyone else ever tried replacing the stock pot with the DACT.When I put the DACT in, I also rewired the input straight from the CD RCA directly to the DACT, by-passing the selector switch. (I only use one source)I still can't belie...
Review: Hyperion HPS-938
Trelja, I can't speak for Dracule1, but I communicated with Albert Wu just this week and there are no new Hyperions available until February. My suspicions are that Dracule1 won't get a "new" replacement pair until the next production run is compl...
Power cable for Supratek Syrah?
Jond,My experience with my Supratek must be vastly different than Ecclectique's.I think the metal 6L6's are terrific. I run WE 350 B's, but I have tried numerous regulators, including GEC KT66's. After the WE 350 B's, the metal 6L6's are my first ...
Review: Hyperion HPS-938
Trelja, bravo! Classy response.
Review: Hyperion HPS-938
Trelja, I don't know if you have ever personally started a business from the ground-up or not. If you haven't, let me tell you from personal experience, it was literally a hundred times harder than I ever thought it would be and that was after doi...
Preamp Deal of the Century
Congrats, Cello. I have been running 350B's in my Supratek for a long time and nothing else has the magic the 350B's do. Sure they are expensive, but as you say, they should outlast everything else by two or three times or more.
Insides of Lazarus H-1A amp...
Yep, thanks for refreshing my memory, Greg Miller. (Andy was close, hehe!) I went to his house in Van Nuys when I bought the amp. He seemed burned-out on the business, but that was because his business was floundering. I think he built really good...
Insides of Lazarus H-1A amp...
Jeff, I doubt you will be able to find a schematic. I bought my Lazarus directly from Andy (?), sorry I can't remember his last name, and I'm not sure that Andy is his first name either, but he was the designer/owner of Lazarus. He wasn't very org...
Insides of Lazarus H-1A amp...
I owned the "Mark II" and it was a fabulous amp (200w).
Seeking $15,000.00 speaker to replace Quad 988's
Dracule, I am really interested in hearing the Hyperions. It seems everyone that has heard them has been extremely impressed, regardless of price !Pardon me for being the skeptic (and this is not directed specifically at Hyperion), but do any of y...
Stillpoints or Audio Points, has anyone compared
In the interest to those who offered me assistance in this thread, I emailed Robert Maicks at Star Sound Technologies and explained my results with Audiopoints.Robert emailed me back and generously offered to refund my purchase upon return of the ...
Mods for a PS Audio HCA-2?
Actually, Sean, it will only take a couple of minutes more to list all 20 amps that you have purchased or acquired on the basis of their performance.
Mods for a PS Audio HCA-2?
Sean, you said recently you have 20 amps, which I don't doubt. I would be very curious to hear what the top five are that you own.
