Rowland preamps?????? Between the Coherence One and later Coherence Two I do not have information on a head to head comparison. I can though totaly recommend the Coherence One. Find it and buy it, if I don't get to it first.
Can Sound-Smith tip sound as good as original? Jonathan Carr, while you state factually incorrect, in my issue what I posted is factually correct as I experienced. Perhaps a heart to heart with your dealers and/or distributors is warranted. I could not take the Lyra back to original dealer as ...
Can Sound-Smith tip sound as good as original? In my experience trying to get the original manufacturer to service one of their own cartridges is an excercise in futility. This past year I tried to get Lyra to service the cartridge and I was totally ignored. Basically from thier dealers I was ...
Can Sound-Smith tip sound as good as original? On the Lyra I had done was a re-tip. Replace the diamond stylus on the original cantilever. I experienced no change in signature. However when the cantilever is replaced, no doubt a change in signature is quite likely. My process was new diamond o...
Rowland preamps?????? My favorite in the Rowland line up is the Coherence One preamp. Very difficult to find today, and wish I had never sold the one I had. Reference caliber preamp with few peers.
Koetsu Rosewood retip or replace I as well have used Soundsmith with great results on a Lyra cartridge. My process to get the Lyra back up to spec was in the $450.00 range as it was a retip as opposed to replacing a cantilever. Very nice work, a wee bit pricey, but very happy wit...
Time To Impose Minimum Standards for LP's I said one of the few if not the only one that test plays each and every Lp I get in. I read a lot of ads here on Audiogon and can't remember the last vinyl reseller that test plays the LPs. I don't sell a bunch, because of the time involved in te...
Time To Impose Minimum Standards for LP's Make no mistake, finding good playable vinyl today is a daunting task to say the least. Some of you know me as a reseller of vinyl here on Audiogon. Been doing so for many years now. I am one of the few if not the only one that test plays each alb...

I did exactly what he said to do and that solved the problem, Took about 40 minutes of time from start to finsih. Most of that in dissasemby and reassemble th...
VPI Scout- motor pops in speakers when turned off Shocked by VPI response. I have never had such a response from VPI. I have had same problem over the years with Rega, Oracle and a few others. This is a dirt simple fix if the problem relates to the turntable.
VPI Scout- motor pops in speakers when turned off All my years of dealing with VPI I have never had a response such as the one Mekong56 describes here. Not that I am disputing his claim of the incident. But to me this is not like VPI at all. This just doesn't fit the man Harry Weisfield owner of ...
VPI Scout- motor pops in speakers when turned off Atmasphere is spot on with his response. Had the same problem with a HW 19 turntable and that totally solved the problem. Dirt easy to accomplish.
Linn LP-12 still competitive with the very best? Well over the course of 1957 to present and having damn near owned ever table out there at one time or another as well as the Linn menetioned in this thread. New2Analog - Table Setup Help? Built in phono preamp in a turntable are pedestrian at best. I agree with Ad010685. Need to go with an out board phono preamp to get the signature your really looking for.The Lehman phono preamp is a good one as well as many others out there, only...
Hi, Goners Sota Saphire tonearm, cartridge match? The last time I heard the Lyra Dorian it was mounted to a Michel Tecnoarm and it was spectacular. That was at Hollywood Sound in Hollywood, FL., Larry who owns and runs the place is one of the most knowledgeable people you will meet. Analog playba... |
