help please. i need opinions of high output carts
Zaikesman, you hit the nail on the head, so to speak. I agree. I've also been told that MM's, as a general rule, are more forgiving of tiny mis-alignnment errors than MC's. Happy Tunes!
Speaker Cable Too Short What to do?
David99, you obviously didn't understand my second post!!! When asked for an option, I (along with Ljgj) gave him what I thought was his BEST option, as he would have to replace the cables anyway TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM THE RIGHT WAY, according to ...
Incorrect speaker cable connection can damage amp?
Most high end amps have protective circuitry or fuses to protect against "user stupidity"! Don't take this personally, as I was referring to myself! In audio, we all do`dumb things over the course of our listening pleasures throughout the years! I...
If i want to record FM to a CD recorder, do i need
Why not consider an 8-track recorder? No refection on you, but I'm VERY bitter that FM has become total CRAP! I worked in radio during the heyday of progressive FM ('70's). FM has become a joke in creative programming, audio quality, and UNBEARABL...
Speaker Cable Too Short What to do?
Yeah, there's nothing wrong with MIT. And you can have your choice, too, since there's literally HUNDREDS for sale on the used market! That fact alone should tell you something, David99! Sorry, I don't believe in hanging on MORE electronics in my ...
Easy way to find that hard to get import.
No comment. Just want to add this topic to my threads page. Sorry for the interuption. Carry on & tally-ho!
Best Sounding Tube Dac you ever heard.
Why the obsession with tube output? If I'm correct, many of the tube outputs function as impedance matching buffers and NOT amplification devices. I can understand tube amps/preamps (I'm using Atma-sphere products myself) but let's not rule out so...
Speaker Cable Too Short What to do?
Sell the MIT, and get a better pair of cables! Sorry, I'm not a big fan of MIT. Sometimes, bad things happen for good reasons, ending up in much better results! Happy Tunes!
If your System can Speak
"Hey, give me a hit off that 'doobie'!"
Buggtussel speakers: a "sleeper" hi- end spker?
Hey Sunnyjim, how have ya been? Yes, I did hear them at the C.E.S./The EXPO in Vegas. I didn't know what to expect with a name like this (kinda like a sports car named "Doofus" ). The sound was VERY impressive, especially for the price. A serious ...
Nomatics?
Could it possibly be a typo for the band "The ROMANTICS?"
Used 750-1000 CD Player Advise
Another suggestion....Audio Refinement by YBA. I was always impressed with the build quality of the components in this entry level series. And it also has digital output (RCA's) so you can always upgrade your D/A converter (since the digital "wars...
dis-similar bicables? Why not?
I would think that with dissimilar cables, you might have a phase shift problem between the woofer & tweeter. But, I can't state that this is a fact. Better minds may be in order here! Happy Tunes
Isolated Ground electrical outlets ???
I was told that an isolated ground to a specific outlet will only work if that outlet is on a dedicated circuit. Other than with a dedicated circuit, you can set up a ground loop, or even worse, a voltage differential between that outlet's groundi...
Balanced Amps at a reasonable price?
Hah! Beat you to the question, CFB! Hope that your tweeters are still a 'tweetin' and your woofers a woofin'! BTW, I've just GOTTA hear a pair of those Eidolons. Thanks for putting that rather expensive bug in my head! O.K., I'll now stop these su...
