@shadorne  I think the arm on the Technics might be the weak link .@williewonka  Thanks for your suggestions, but I plan on giving my P3-24 to my son.

Thanks Matt, I'll take a look at the JA Michell. At first, I was a bit hesitant to consider direct drive, but from my research, I got the impression that the DD technology has improved in recent years.
Classe or McIntosh Is Classe going out of businesssed
If your Parasound is a Halo amp and being used in a HT system, what is to be gained by replacing it? The Halo's are fine amps in their own right. Are you looking for more power?
How many spacers for a dynavector xx-2 mk2 on a rega.

Yes, we are getting on. 1974, Infinity 2000 Speakers in rosewood, Mac C-26, Crown DC300A, Dual TT, Shure V15, Yamaha tuner, Sony R to R. Our local dealer also used Cat Stevens when demoing speakers.
Tannoy Legacy Series Speakers

McIntosh C26 and Crown DC 300A purchased in 1974, still in use in my office system. At the time, I couldn't afford the extra $100 or so for the matching McIntosh 2105, so I got the Crown.

@billstevenson  Thanks for your thoughtful reply. My original question related to pros and cons of each type of arm and your comments are certainly in that vein. I know all of this can be very subjective and system/room dependent. I want to experi...
