Subs: sealed vs. ported
I've found a used ULS15 that I'm considering. I've looked into the SB13 as well. I'm leaning towards sealed - it seems when I'll care most about sound quality, sealed will be better, even if there's a trade off during movies. Hopefully, since I'm ...
Subs: sealed vs. ported
My current mains are Infinity Kappa 7's, circa 1988, which I still like, most days, but they need to be upgraded. Someone here opined that they are 3db down at around 37Hz and that seems about right. I have liked some B&W's, but the PSB Synchr...

Follow up on the center channel question...Found a deal on a Synchrony Two C (looks like PSB is discontinuing it?). But I'm pretty sure it's ported, and it would be going over the fireplace, almost up against the wall....Bad idea?

Ok, thanks. I'm building as I go, as I said, so I have the rears now, next will probably be center, once I figure out how to make the PSB work in limited space. I agree with timbre matching, which is why I auditioned main speakers to narrow down w...

Ok, I guess my question is why spend the extra on the modded versions, as opposed to just the $499 on the Oppo site for the 103 or 95?I have the SynchronyS surorunds, which are tri-mode, and I'll probably wire them as 7.1 since I ran the wires alr...
starting a 5.1 or 7.1 surround
I'm in a similar situation, Old 2-channel stuff, integrating with new. I have a new receiver as the control center that will run surrounds, and an old Yamaha MX2 amp (similar to the Adcom, but the Adcom's probably better) powering Infinity Kappa 7...
